Player Spotlight: Steven Jackson (1 Viewer)

If he plays 16 games this season, I think:

349 - 1500, 70 for 490, 17 total TD's

a real shot at RB1 this year.
Wow, quite a change of heart since your comments in the other Steven Jackson thread link... like this gem:

I already followed up on your numbers.. ti all depends on the scoring system. I won't touch him because I think he has no heart. I think he'd rather claim a sore hammy than tough it out for a team that is going nowhere.
Welcome to the Jackson supporter side.
Well for giving projections I do always assume a full season. What I meant by the other comments was when his team was tanking he'd rather not be out there. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt, and he could make another owner in my league very happy!

interesting data/information in this thread. i find it funny thought that we use data from players in the past that have really zero impact on whether or not Jackson gets hurt or not. Just because RB X in the 90s got hurt this many times and what not doesn't mean Jackson will or will not get hurt again. Injuries are totally unpredictable unless the player has a known issue (like TD's knee). I still appreciate the information though, it's very interesting to read and analyze, but IMO means nothing in regards to predicting if he gets hurt or not.

Steven Jackson is one of the hardest players to handicap. I don't think you can try and predict how many games the guy is going to miss, so with that said:

1400 yards rushing, 10 td's

52 receptions for 500 yards and 4 td's

I took him at 1.9 in a pretty competitive 12 teamer. I don't think you can pass on him at that spot, even though a large part of me wanted to.

I have to think (err...hope) the Spags philosophy, plus some oline acquisitions, and a pretty good schedule will result in a return to greatness for Jackson. Maybe even a resurgence for Bulger.

Well - he fell to me at 1.10 last night in my big money league. Worse yet - Ronnie Brown was there at 4.01 and I took him too. They have to be two of the most difficult RB's to project. I'm not in love with either one but they looked like value picks at the time.

I'm either gonna run away with it or finish last - I just don't know. :goodposting:

I say first.Sincerely,A Steven Jackson owner

I was listening to NFL Radio last night and they said the plan for Jackson this season is to use him the way the Eagles use Westbrook. Having Spags as the HC and Pat Shurmur as the OC - this makes sense to me. Jackson has the skills to catch the little swing passes and screens that help get Westbrook into the open field. Might also be a little less wear and tear on him.

Anyway this did get my attention.

PPR gold if true. I really like him this year, if healthy I see big things.

If this is true bump up Marc Bulger. Westbrook averaged 50+ yards and 0.33 TDs a game, if S jax approaches those he could add 2 pts a week to Bulger's production taking him from a WW guy so far this year to a decent #2 QB.
