Players that fell off the face of the earth (1 Viewer)

ooh..a Jets fan ey?

How bout..Browning Nagle?

What ever happened to him?

Ooh...

Todd Marinovich ?

Dan McGuire (sp?) I THINK that's Mark's younger brother...
I'm not a Jets fan but.....I'm a Buffalo native. In the Arena League, the Buffalo Destroyers original starting QB was Doug Pederson. The Eagles signed him right before the season, and the Destroyers scrambled for a backup. They signed Nagle, and he started like every game for their first 2 seasons.

Don't know where he is now.

Bam Morris

Fred Lane

Napoleon Kaufman

Tyrone Wheatley

Boo Williams

Sly morris

Donald Hayes

Willy Green (yes, I know where he is but he hasn't done a thing)

Cam Cleeland

Jay Riermersma
Bam Morris did hard time in fed and Texas prisons, got out, and was still hoping for a tryout ...No further chances for Bam.

From Wikipedia:

On June 27, 1996, Morris pleaded guilty to felony possession of marijuana in a plea bargain deal in front of a Rockwall County, Texas judge. Police testified that they found 4 kilograms of marijuana and one gram of cocaine in his car during a traffic stop. He was fined US$7,000 and sentenced to 200 hours of community service and six years probation.

He was cut by the Steelers after the guilty plea and signed as a free agent with the Baltimore Ravens. He wore uniform number 33 as a Raven. After two seasons, both marked with suspensions concerning the NFL's substance abuse policy, Morris was released. He signed with the Chicago Bears during training camp but was cut before playing in a regular season game. He then signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. He wore uniform number 39 as a Chief.

On November 16, 1997, Morris was arraigned in Baltimore, Maryland after a woman accused him of assault. Morris pleaded guilty in August 2000 to two counts of Federal drug trafficking and was sentenced to 30 months in prison. As part of the plea bargain, Morris admitted to distributing 100 kilograms of marijuana in the Kansas City area between 1998 and 2000. He served his federal sentence at Leavenworth federal prison.

On September 10, 2001, Morris was convicted of violating his parol stemming from his 1996 plea bargain and sentenced to 10 years in a Texas prison. He was released early on July 31, 2004.

Barry Foster

this guy had an incredible year for the Steelers once, was a consensus top-5 fantasy pick the next year, disappointed that season, and then fell off the face of the earth.
Sounds a lot like Christian Okoye. I remember when someone drafted him ahead of Barry Sanders or Emmitt Smith.
Word.As in Barry.

Dalton Hilliard was a pretty good back who disappeared. I just checked out his stats and he was replaced by some lousy players - 4 different RBs over 4 consecutive years.

Don't you remember these stars?

Derek Brown

Vaughn Dunbar

Fred McAfee

Ironhead Heyward

Hilliard ran for over 1200 yards and 13 TDs the year before these chumps came to NO.

I believe Heath Shuler sells real estate or insurance or something now. Pretty successful too. I remember seeing it on OTL.

Blair ThomasLouis Lipps Tony SimmonsLipps at least had a couple of very good years, but the list of very good players that get drafted and don't pan out is long. Tyrone Wheatley-long, non-descript career, never coming close to expectations. Champagne Tony Eason.

Derrick Alexander. What happened to you guy? One year you're world-beater champion WR with 1,391 yards and 10 TDs. You + Elvis Grbac = unstoppable. Then you fell off the face of the earth. How were those of us who drafted you in the first 4 rounds supposed to know you'd finish up as roughly the #60 overall WR the following year? You get the gasface, buddy.

Lets start with the Bears:

Tim Worley

Curtis Enis

Lewis Tillman

Cade McNown
Actually Tim Worley was a Stiller first. A first rounder the late eighties. He never panned out. Thankfully another not-yet former Bear, was about to burst onto the scene......thats right, the fashioned impaired, Merril Hoge. :bag: :bag: I'll put up John L. Williams....

Patrick Jeffers..I thought of him the other day. He was deadly during the second half of the 98 season and I thought he would be a stud. He got injured either in the last game of the season or early the next and dissapeared.

Raymont Harris

Edgar Bennett

Erric Pegram

Marcus Nash (might still be around)

Lonnie Johnson

Robert Brooks (injury??)

Quinn Early

Craig Whelihan

Moses Moreno

Henry Burris
Marcus Nash is lighting up the Arena League. It was quite funny when he played the Crush.

Remember Derek Brown's running back mate at Nebraska Calvin Jones? They called themselves the We-backs. Because they ran out of the I formation, but split carries.

One of my fav fantasy RBs from the old days was Butch Woolfolk of the New York Football Giants.  I had him a couple of years, and he motored pretty good in his day.

Another was Freeman McNeil of the Jets Jets Jets from about the same era.

Then there's this really REALLY REALLY old Quarterback named Vinny somebody.  I wonder where he is these days.   :P

A lot more questions in this thread than answers....... Raymont Harris was never that good.Same for Tony Simmons- speed but nada for hands.Katzenmoyer is back in Columbus. After his awesome freshman year, he was so-so his sophmore year then drafted based on the 1st yr in colege. A couple of injuries later and the last I saw him he was in Columbus. :excited:

Two words......**** Vermeil

Those of us here in KC I think still dont get why DV hated him, but when DV took over, Grbac hasd walked in FA to BALT, DV traded our 1st rounder for Trent Green, and that season will forever be known for these famous KC WRs....

Derrick Mayes

Tony Horne

Chris Thomas

Larry Parker

Nice group, eh? We could have REALLY used DA as we went 6-10 in the worst season we have had in almost 20 years. But I am sure DV had his reasons.

I looked at pro-football refernce and DA did play but it was sparingly....we signed Kennison.....and our 3rd round pick was Snoop Minnis (theres a name for ya!) so there was a stable, but most it was poo-poo.

Heath Shuler is running for congress or some type of political office...I thought Barry Foster was going to be better than Franco Harris...then he came to camp that year and said his heart wasn't into playing football anymore...sad.Eric Metcalf used to be a Fantasy god! Where'd he go?

Cade McNown
Cade had a shot to take the helm of the Niners, but his arm was so torn up from various injuries he just couldn't cut it. Made Tim Rattay look like Dan Marino in terms of arm strength I guess.

No one mentioned...

Ki-jana Carter?

Cade McNown?

Those are some greats.
Some loser named Jeff Garcia was coming in from the CFL so I traded Terrell Owens for Cade and Marcus Robinson. Goooooo Cade!Dynasty League.

:bag:

Saw Mowatt in a restaurant in North Jersey a few years back. Shook his hand, largest hand I've ever seen. Looked pretty good, though this was a while back.

Heck yeah! He was the bomb back then. That UD card and the Fleer Ultra rookie card.

Dang...To think I had like tons of Dan The Man McGuire and only like 2 of each Favre's RC

Oh you mean Chris Warren...

i "remembered" name chris, but not last name... definitely not him, pretty sure before... this guys may have been goal line specialist... i remember thinking that unusual because most starting RBs don't get close to 15 TDs, let alone goal line specialists... he really had charmed year where BUNCH of plays ended up on the 1-2 yard line... & this guy was MONEY from in close... at least that year he was... seems like moe williams got close to DD TDs few seasons ago... maybe that was done more in past?* SEA homer shick! would no doubt know this.

Could it have been Derrick Fenner? 14 rushing TDs in 1990.He fits all the criteria perfectly, except for the one about being named Chris.

Here's a guy that's really forgotten.

I knew what he did, but I couldn't remember who he was. I knew he was either a Rams RB or Lions RB. But it's not Amp Lee. It's not Robert Holcombe. But I found him:

Greg Hill.

Sure, I know what you're thinking: Who?

But Hill had 240 rushing yards and 4 TDs in 1998. That's normally unimpressive, but consider that Hill only played two games that year.
I had Greg Hill on my team in 1996-97. What a tease.Greg goldtooth Pruitt.

Mike Pruitt- Told my best friend to take Ron Dayne #1 in 2000 rookie draft.
