Chicago: Thomas Jones...18 carries for 54 yds this week...just doesn't seem to be as good as he was last season however he also does not seem to be losing ground to Cedric benson right now...very low ypc on the season but the Bears are winning so he will keep starting for now.

Minnesota: Jermaine Wiggins...1 rec for 9 yds

Jacksonville: Reggie Williama...3 rec for 8 yds...does this really surprise anyone?

Byron Leftwich...against a defense that allows a lot of yards he throws for a buck seven...and 2 Ints...they are not ready to best Indy in the playoffs yet.

Indianapolis: Joeseph Addai...6 touches for the day.

Washington: Santana Moss...6 rec for 50 yds today but he is not nearly as effectove this season as last year...no TDs to date.

Houston Texans: Samkon Gado/Wali Lundy...cobined for 1 carry from Gado on the day...let the Dayne era begin in Houston...coulda woulda shoulda...Reggie Bush!

Tampa Bay: Galloway/Clayton...combined for 2 rec for 22 yds today and now will have a rookie or Rattay zippin it in now...gonna be tough to start any Bucs WR with any kind of confidence.

Carolina: DeAngelo Williams...Foster owners breathe a little relief as Williams did nothing today...4 carries for -1 yds...not good.

Cinci: Chad Johnson...growing trend of defenses gunning for him...the Bengals still lit the Steelers D up for 4 passing TDs...CJ owners took a big hit today.

Pittsburgh: Hines Ward...2 rec for 17 yds...had a TD in the opener but Roth and the passing game are struggling so he is too.

Miami: D.Culpepper...another very mediocre/bad outing.

C.Chambers...the 39 yd run masks what has been a very quiet to the beginning of the season for Chambers.

NY Giants: Plax...2 rec for the day and then he gets benched and NY puts up 4 TDs in the 4th quarter...WOW!!! Plax was on fire alst season and then was quiet at the end of the year...always think about moving Plax when he is on a roll...he just cannot remain consistent.

New England: Corey Dillon...5 carries for 16 yds and is now gimpy it seems. Maroney did not do much on the ground but he caught a lot of balls.

These were the ones that stuck out to me...chime in with what you saw today. What players have you really on panic alert now?

Burress. The definition of a "worst case scenario game". He did everything but hand the ball to a defensive back and give a pat on the backside, tell him to start running with it.

What about Tiki Barber? seems to be going backwards.

14/64 rushing 4/14 receiving

Last week, 21/51 rushing 7/57 receiving

Week One, 18/110 rushing 5/61 receiving

najeh davenport

was a little surprised he didn't get a sniff inside the 5...i know people grabbed him hoping to snag a cheap TD vulture.

along that same line of thinking, throw in TJ duckett

Without a healthy Matt Jones, the Jags passing attack is the definition of mediocre. None of the other receivers can stretch the field.

I am asking myself if the loss of Chris Simms is a good or bad thing in relations to Carnell Williams moving forward.

On one hand this may force Chucky to give Caddy the ball more to protect the new Qb.

On the other hand the Qbing might get worse this creating more turnovers and defensive focus on stoping Williams.

Antonio Bryant
Bryant has got to be the king of having big playes called back on pentalties. He had another 50 some odd yd pass taken away today on a holding call. I believe that is 3 games in a row that he has lost a 50+ yd play from a pentalty.

I think it is very bad. I think the Bucs will try and sign someone this week to start instead of starting Gradkowski after the bye.

funny, i don't remember rattay being so horrible that he's not even being considered to replace simms.

When asked, Gruden said "Hety, Rattay is no Rob Johnson. Got it?"

Gore took a huge step back - from being a top 10 stud in the making, to a hurt guy who has fumbled at the goal line too much, with an intriguing QB convert bucking to get more work...

So are you ready to say M-Rob will be the leading Penn State rusher next week at Arrowhead? :)

Randy McMichael, and he started way far back. Does anyone have any information on how the TE is being used in Miami this year? Is McMichael blocking more?

 xactly correct. Bryant has lost BIG plays in each game this season due to penalties called well outside of the particular play's action. He should be +100 yards and +2 TDs this season at the minimum. These calls were not a result of Bryant's play... just bad luck for him so far...

Leftwich was having a very good start to the season before coming up short today - possible that he really missed a healthy Matt Jones. At least he's still the running option inside the 5.

I want to hear more about the nature of Gore's injury before I would say that - if Gore is out, I would favore Mrob over Hicks, yes.

Kurt Warner... late fumbled exchange from center squanders a chance to win to the game, plus some a bad red zone INT (and a total of 3), and the "put in Leinart" talk starts. Leinart should not be on any waiver wires.

Actually, LJ is a Penn State Alum, Gore attended the U.

I missed the subtle question about which PSU RB would be leading rusher in the SF KC game. I was just saying MRob would be leading rusher for sure if Gore was out. Of course, I meant to say Hicks - if Gore is out, its obvious that he wont lead the team in rushing (which i have corrected above)its late - post football haze setting in.

Armando: So are you ready to say M-Rob will be the leading Penn State rusher next week at Arrowhead?

Sigmund: I would prefer M-Rob to Gore if Gore is out.

Me: Actually, Armando is referring to Larry Johnson as the other Penn State rusher playing in Arrowhead next week. Gore attended the University of Miami.

i wouldnt say gore took a step back, unless his injury is serious.

People are overlooking philly's defense. I had to start gore today basically and wish I didn't.

They shut down the running game 3 weeks in a row now.

M Rob didn't seem to have any problems getting those 1 yard TD's... Gore did....

Indeed. Folks in the fantasy community were putting him in the "MUST START," future Hall-of-Famer category after only two games.... against Arizona and St. Louis. Once he gets a steady diet of better defenses, where his pedestrian O-line is challenged and his team must play from behind, Gore will seem more mortal.

The guy had 74 yds in a game that was a blowout and he didn't even make it through 3 quarters. If he plays the whole game, he most likely puts up over 100 easy. I agree that he could/should stand to loose GL work, but the guy is still a must start everyweek so long as he is healthy.

Remember its the third week when the good defenses start to take hold. They have had two weeks of film to watch, especially on the new guys. Now its up to the offensive coordinators to start compensating. Those who don't change will continue to put up bad scores.

To counterpoint, this is also the time when offenses start to catch up to the defenses early in the season. Defenses are usually ahead of the offenses for the first couple of weeks. Offenses are catching up to the pedestrian defenses in the league at this point. The next few weeks will be very interesting.

Wiggins looked like he was targeted by Chicago all day long - given the Vikings wideouts, the Bears probably wanted to cover him well and not leave Johnson a safety valve.

Indeed. In the post-game, Nolan sounded none too pleased with Gore's recent goal line struggles. This is the second week in a row he has fumbled away a sure TD. As a Niner fan, I honestly believe Robinson should take over as the GL back until Gore rights the fumbilitis problem. If not for the 14 point swing caused by Gore's fumble / Eagle return for TD, the game would have gone into overtime. It would have been tied had Robinson been in instead of Gore. That is demoralizing and can't happen to a professional football player. Many people act like Gore has earned his stripes as a proven every-down back... not yet my friends, he still has more work to do.

R. Droughns.

An injury and missing a game early in the season is never a good thing, especially for a RB who gets contacted pretty much every time he touches the ball. The only positive here is that the running game was still putrid with him not there which locks him in as the starter.

The problem is are they going to limit his touches and with how bad the Browns running game has looked it looks as though Droughns is on his way down.

Kurt Warner... late fumbled exchange from center squanders a chance to win to the game, plus some a bad red zone INT (and a total of 3), and the "put in Leinart" talk starts. Leinart should not be on any waiver wires.
That INT in the end zone was the worst I have ever seen. The announcer commented on how he must have thrown to a Rams jersey like he was still playing for the Rams. Either that or the fix was on because there was no receiver around and the only ones in the game were TE's from what I remember. Why wouldn't you spread out the Defense and make them cover Fitz, Boldin, and B Johnson? Then run edge up in there on ONE play. Note to Denny Green:YOU ARE NOT A RUNNING TEAM!!! GET THE BALL TO YOUR WR'S OR YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE EVERY GAME.

Frank Gore went from steal of the draft after week one, to the next Priest Holmes in week two, to someone who people are asking if he's going to lose his job to Michael Robinson after week three.

That is a meteoric fall from grace.

I think he was referring to LJ...

Culpepper took a step way back, more like a tumble then a sack. I am not positive that it is all Culpepper, since he is getting sacked as much as David Carr, but he sure looks immobile and awful.

Note to thatguythere:That running team was 1st and 10 at the STL 18 with 1:46 left and down only two. A fumbled snap is the only thing that kept that running team from winning the game yesterday.

There's a few here that nobody should worry about, and if their owners are, it's shopping time!

No worries with the two stud WRs and the rook
