Playing Crapshoot With Our Lives…Undocumented Lefts vs. Armament Rights (1 Viewer)

So, I was looking at the "BUILD THE WALL" threads over the past months and thinking that they were reductive, simplistic. Then, the area in which I now live (surrounded by real estate that drops for 600,000 or so per about 1/8 acre plus house plus whatever acre) was once again invaded today. The other day, somebody left their car running and it was driven off. Today, an illegal "escapee" decided he was going to pound on our neighbor's door and hop the fence, leaving a blood trail down the street. Trust me, this is/was a nice area.

What I want to know is: Why are the scoldy scolders of scoldville so intent on allowing undocumented illegal rights while denying us our right to self-protection? You gun controllers know who you are; I don't even need to explain it.  Please explain to me the equal protection suspect class of the undocumented mixed with the rights of the documented, and the process to provide ourselves protection from those fleeing (for various reasons) the now narco-state of Mexico therein.

And I still hate Trump, but you guys have to be able to account for this in a general election.

while I can't add to the gun debate....

The town directly adjacent to ours was featured in a documentary about illegal day laborers, called Farmingville. I drive through it every day and there is not a corner in the morning where there is a collection of guys waiting to get picked up. The homes around the area are all run down, flop houses having 8-10 guys in each. And this is long Island where my property taxes are $8K year, and some homes around me are around $15K (we have been keeping an eye on real estate b/c we were considering moving).

Every few days there is another hit and run accident in the paper and when they find the guy it is usually a Spanish name.

My wife is a teacher in the local elementary school and every year she has more and more students that speak zero english and require extensive services.

It is really getting bad here on Long Island. While I think a 'wall' is not feasible, I really thing we need to be finding ways at making it easier for and incentivize people to become documented citizens. Sadly, our economy depends on these workers and without them we would be in a tough spot, but that shoudnt give them a free pass from the rest of the residents.

I like the idea of a path to citizenship, but down here, even among the exorbitant prices in Socal, things seem intractable.

The common thread that runs through both is that being a lefty means wanting to control everything.  They want to control the undocumented and they want to control guns.  They don't feel safe if they don't have control.

About that wall, I was thinking we should just build a train track along the border, park all the worn out trains cars there, weld the doors shut, and maybe stuff barbed wire under the cars, or pile up some sand at the bottom.  Maybe fill the cars with rocks to discourage cutting through.
