Playoff Format - Wild Card Selections (1 Viewer)

My league just voted to slightly alter our playoff structure as follows:

12 team league. 4 divisions of 3 teams each.

4 division winners make the playoffs, as does the best record non-division winner. And the 6th and final playoff spot goes to the team with the most points overall not yet in.

I personally like this, as it rewards those high scoring kick ### team that has gotten unlucky simply due to scheduling. It also keeps more teams "in it" until the end, and every point matters!

Does anyone have any thoughts on this structure, good or bad?

your going to have a 5-8 team get in over a 7-6 team occasionally. it's more fair but total points leagues are no fun. this rule is a step in that direction. i don't like it

it doesn't keep more teams in it. the 6-6 team that was in the running last year with low scoring is out and is replaced by the 5-7 team with high scoring.

if you want to avoid luck, then get rid of matchups all together. use team qb's and team te's so health luck doesn't play a factor.

I think the point is to keep H2H (since its subjectively more fun than total points) but still reward an "unlucky" high scoring team with a playoff berth. I think it's the right way to go.
