Playoff WRs (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure if this belongs in the ACF, but I would like to hear thoughts on startable WR3 (non-PPR) to pick up for the playoff run. I'm kicking myself for missing out on Garçon and don't want to let another slip by. I also got burned by the stinkers from Blackmon and Broyles this week. I made idiotic moves of dropping Crabtree and G. Jennings earlier in the season (short benches, but still moronic on my part). Thoughts?

Possibly Givens and Gordon. Admittedly I haven't looked too far into this yet but I'll more than likely stop by with a longer list tomorrow.

Givens and Golden Tate are the two who come to mind for me and could be on a lot of WWs.

Maybe Kenny Britt if he's available. Titans keep talking about getting him the ball better and schedule is real good. Whether Locker can play well is the key but Britt did score yesterday.

I was looking through targets per game for the last 3 weeks. Of the guys possibly on waiver wires, the top 10 are:

Givens 9.0

Wright 9.0 (2 weeks)

Avery 8.7

Bess 8.7

Sanders 7.0

Criner 7.0

Gordon 7.0

Kerley 6.3

Walter 6.3

Mi. Floyd 6.0

On the list, Avery is the biggest surprise to me. I concurs that Givens and Gordon seem to have the most upside, but even that is tarnished a bit if Amendola comes back and I'm not sure you can trust any Cleveland WR. As a Steelers homer, Sanders has been solid but he doesn't score TDs and I believe he merely held Brown's spot.

Showed again Sunday that he can get it done vs. the right matchups ... and the playoff sked is quite favorable. Was dropped in one league on his bye (week 10), with Dallas and Pittsburgh waiting in weeks 11/12. The owner had quite a bit of injuries on the roster, so he had to cut bait .... I'd be surprised if he was as available as most seem to think, though ... but, if he is, it's a definite no-brainer snag.

Givens, Gordon, Avery, and Tate are the 4 available in my big money league, and I am desperate for a WR3. I refuse to use a Miami receiver again the rest of the season, Bess and Hartline are too unpredictable.

Problem is I have no way to separate those 4

Risky, but could pay off. It seems that Streater is in and out of coach Allen's doghouse, one week getting 10 targets, the next getting 3 snaps for the game and now he's back in a sleeper despite only getting 4 targets because of the long TD. A guy who could easily surpass him and is on the waiver wires is Criner who had 10 targets last week. With the Raiders season in the crapper, they are more likely to open up the field with both Criner and Streater more just to see what they have going into next year. Not many waiver wire WR's out there with 10 targets last I checked. Criner should at least be mentioned here, and I'd take a shot on Criner as a stash pickup flyer for the playoffs schedule of the Chiefs and Panthers. Streater is a good flier too, but Criner is the drafted WR and seem to be expanding his role in the offense. Coaches wanna see what they got in Criner. They already know what Streater brings to the table.

Young was sent home again, even after Broyles tore his ACL. He will never be seen in a Lions uniform again.

I think it's possible and the matchup is definitely favorable this week against the Packers but he only got four targets last week despite Broyles getting hurt early. Now a full week to practice without Broyles could change things but I think Thomas is a bit risky. The guy I kinda like there to fill in for Broyles is Scheffler. I know he's not a WR, just pointing out that maybe Thomas doesn't start seeing a high volume of targets now.

I figure a lot of 2 TE sets too. Calvin - Thomas - Pettigrew - Scheffler.

I think Greg Jennings has the potential to score in the Top 5 for the playoffs. Remember last season when he was healthy, he averaged 17 PPG in PPR. Throw out the clunker vs the Bucs where he presumably got dinged (he was probable the next week) and that average raises to 19 PPG.

The offense has evolved and changed a bit this season. Randall Cobb has bullied his way into tons of targets and is really the centerpiece right now. However Greg Jennings is quite possible still better than Cobb. People forget just how good Greg Jennings is. He's a top 10 NFL receiver. He did not injure his knees or ankles. He had a hernia surgery. I'd love to see some historical data, but I'd think the recovery from that is pretty cut and dried. No reason to think he'll have limited effectiveness on the field. He should be full go and "fresh legs "

I think it's reasonable to expect that Jennings will have numbers much like he and Jordy Nelson were putting up last season. Nelson is out right now and Cobb is in the picture. Pretty much a wash I'd say as far as lost opportunities for Jennings.

This week Jennings plays Detroit who has actually played him quite well (although he did hang 18.4 on them last season in the early meeting). I think the stat line from that game is a pretty reasonable jumping off point for a projection. So let's call it 5-74-1. Nice week for a guy you are adding to your playoff lineup who hasn't really helped you make it. Nice if you can kick a guy like Kendall Wright or Brandon Lafell onto the bench and add a player the caliber of Jennings.
