Playoffs Thread - New Orleans V San Francisco (1 Viewer)

The 49ers are for real. They did what they needed to do to secure a bye week and play at home in front of their crowd. It is hard to win on the road in the playoffs. The Saints had a bye in 2009 and took advantage just like the 49ers took advantage this time. They are a well coached team, I do think they are a few pieces away from getting to the Superbowl but at the same time they are the class of the NFC west and will become regular visitors to the playoffs and eventually get to the Super Bowl. My Saints? What can you say? A 13 and 3 record and you still don't get a playoff bye? Crazy! The Saints will be back though and will right the ship. They have let losses against weaker opponents create their playoff woes two years in a row. 2010 they lose to the Browns and Cardinals and this year they overlook the Bucs and the Rams. Will they learn this hard lesson for next year? I hope to God they do!
Very good synopsis. If they win either one of the Buc/STL games, they play the niners at home where they are far more comfortable.

And your claim "Hey, I was only joking" is lame.
I have a lot of history on the board to back up my statements champ. Just give up while you're behind.
Please identify any valuable insights you have provided regarding yesterday's game. Your reputation (unknown by me) means nothing to me. I live in the here and now.
You guys are wound way too tight. But check out the Hou/Bal thread in-game thread. That's where I'm actually being serious. No need to be so confrontational, guy.

A bye week and home field advantage seems like a pretty big reward for winning a tie-breaker, IMO, but that's the NFL's rules and dems the breaks.
