Please let my NFL team sign ______________ next year (1 Viewer)

I'm sorry, I don't see the fascination with Michael Turner. We heard the same stuff about Derrick Blaylock and as soon as he left the system, he stunk on ice.
What system? The system that has helped one of the best NFL RBs ever produce a 4.0 YPC this year?
Thanks for proving my point. Is anyone in this thread looking to sign Turner because of his production this year? Tomlinson's totals (and Turner's padded mop up stats against beaten and tired defenses) in the past were inflated due to the system and superior run blocking. Can Turner be a 20-25 carry guy and match these hyped up expectations? I don't think so. And neither does the league as no one even came close to the Chargers' asking price.
Turner will be the next Lamont Jordan. End of story.

A WR, Moss would be great...Hackett would sufice...trade for Fitz if possible...maybe McNabb...but get a damn pass rusher, please...

Dallas Cowboys

Bryant Johnson, UFA, Arizona Cardinals and Brandon Stokley UFA Denver Broncos

-Dallas needs to prepare for life without Terry Glen and eventually TO. I love Johnson's upside and having a receiver with Stokley's grit. The Cowboys may draft a receiver also because Crayton is a free agent.

Max Starks, UFA, Pittsburgh Steelers

-Can never have enough O-Lineman - As a tackle Flozell Adams has been in the league 10 years - how much longer will he play?

Mike Doss, UFA, Minnesota Vikings

-Time to part with Roy Williams or move him to linebacker....

Terrell Suggs, UFA, Baltimore Ravens

-Why the hell not.

Josh McCown, UFA, Oakland Raiders

-We need a backup - you can keep Johnson around to provide guidance but McCown has youth and could be serviceable.

Waaaay too early but for the Browns a couple of free/restricted agents are obvious.

DT Albert Haynesworth who would fit perfecty as our NT. I don't think the Titans will let him get away. I know Fisher was very upset with him after the face stepping incident last year which came on the heels of multiple Pac Man incidents. The last two losses where the defense has collapsed with Haynesworth on the sidelines may prompt them to make him a high priority. But their will be tons of competition for him and my hopes realisitcally are low of being able to get him.

OLB/DE Terrell Suggs. He'd be a fantastic compliment to Kamerion Whimbley. I'd put him on the weakside and move Kam to the strong side. He'd also provide the addition by subtracting from a divisional opponent. But I highly doubt that Ozzie would allow Phil Savage to get another prize free agent from the Ravens. Phil has already snagged Derek Anderson before he blew up and then got Jamal Lewis when the Ravens thought he was all washed up. So I don't think that they can afford to allow Terrell Suggs to leave and go to Cleveland. It would mean the end of Ozzie in Baltimore if Suggs left and then continued to perform at a Pro Bowl level. So again, realistically, I doubt the Browns stand any chance of landing T-Suggs.

RB Jamal Lewis. He is far from finished. He's not in his peek/prime but he's plenty good nuff to have an effective running game and he'd come at a reasonable price. I think he's the Browns best RB option and should be resigned.

Then the guy I really want, restricted free agent QB Derek Anderson. DA is a perfect fit in Cleveland. He is helped greatly by the Browns offensive line and the skill positions of TE Kellen Winslow and WR Braylon Edwards. Then the vertical passing attack by OC Rob Chudzinski means that DA's best option would be to resign with Cleveland unless he were offered a boatload of money to go somewhere else. The offense in Minnesota is a classic WC. He seem a far better fit with Chicago. I don't know what Atlanta runs but the recieving corps looks really bad. Honestly just from a supporting cast and offensive scheme fit, Cleveland is DA's best option and he's far and away the best free/restricted free agent that the Browns stand the best chance of resigning next year.

Ofcourse a potential trade of DA or Quinn is another story for another thread. But just from a free/restricted free agent standpoint the resigning of DA and Jamal Lewis are high priorities if I'm Phil Savage.

I'm sorry, I don't see the fascination with Michael Turner. We heard the same stuff about Derrick Blaylock and as soon as he left the system, he stunk on ice. That said, in keeping with the thread, the guy I want is already on the Browns' roster. I want a healthy and strong LeCharles Bentley back. With him on that line, even my fat @rse can bang out 120 and a TD a game.
:excited: Bring back Bentley. Other than that a stud NT. I don't have a specific one in mind, any stud NT will do.
I agree, LeChuck back to normal would make our line the best o-line in football.I also would like to sign a stud NT, unfortunately Haynesworth is the only one out there and he'll turn into Gerrard Warren as soon as he gets that big paycheck.I also think we resign Lewis to another 1 year contract if nobody is interested in the off-season. He's not the answer, but would be a decent stop-gap while we rebuild our defense. We also give DA the max tender and see who wants to give us a 1st and third. If its a top 10 pick we'll have to think hard about whether we want to match. If it's Miami's pick we won't have to think about it. The only thing we'll need to think about is whether we want Dorsey or McFadden. Now for the Free agents that we should sign...#1 I'd love to have Turner, but he's gonna get LT money. If I'm paying LT money, I want LT, not his back-up. Fred Taylor or Julius Jones would be better options, but I don't want either one on more than a 3 year contract.#2 Bryant Johnson. He shouldn't get huge money, especially if Moss is out there. He would add a new dimension to the passing game. With a verticle threat in place, JJ can go back to catching the stuff over the middle and Braylon and KW2 can do what they do best.#3 This would probably be our highest impact in Free Agency. Either Suggs, Samuel, or Dansby, in that order. We may be able to afford Dansby along with 1 of the other guys if we don't overspend on Turner. The Browns need an impact Def player. They really need an impact DL, but since there isn't one out there, we take one of the best defensive players available. We'll spend the first day of the draft, drafting defensive lineman.
