I work at a hospital in Baltimore and I'm very familiar with this procedure. Dr. Sugarbaker is indeed the best in the world.

HIPEC is basically a last ditch effort for cancer victims where the abdomen is opened and heated chemotherapy is circulated directly throughout the abdomen. The procedure is really long and expensive. Survival rates have gone up significantly over the years.
