For the determination of the governorship. I'll bow out. This is more of a brief op-ed than a point to prompt discussion.

Well, this really is sort of their job. It's easier for Obama for do what he was elected to do if he has Democratic legislators and governors to work with, and he can trade on the goodwill he generates among the people he campaigns for to advance his agenda.

Have governors races become ever more important than house races? You lose a governor to the opposition, that could translate into a lost house seat come redistricting and the subsequent election for that seat.
