I've always broken ties a certain way, and now someone in my league is telling me that the other way is how it is suppose to be. So I want to get a consensus here.

I suppose it would depend upon what your league rules dictate but all leagues break ties in different ways. My guess is that this poll will come out nearly 50/50 between head to head and points.

1. Overall Winning Percentage

2. Head-to-HEAD Games Played (2 teams only)

3. Most Points For, Season To Date

4. Division Winning Percentage

5. Virtual Coin Toss

Another league uses the NFL's tie-breaking rules.

It might, but I think both are mistakes. The "play-all" or "breakdown" ranking is, IMHO, the only valid metric for truly determining overall quality. Head-to-Head suffers because there aren't enough examples to make an accurate decision. Having 1 or 2 bad weeks could be a decision maker. Overall points suffers because a team could have a couple of extremely good weeks, but not really be as competitive over the season.
