Popsockets? Can we use these? (1 Viewer)

So, I'm noticing more and more people using these things for their phones:

https://www.popsockets.com

I'm not sure if they are all of the Popsocket brand, but I am sure I've only seen women use these. But they just look so damn functional.

So, what's the call here? Manly, utilitarian addition to our phones, or a chick thing?

I guess if you want a collapsible grip and stand that lets you show off your style whenever you want, however you want then get it.  I have no use for it.

My kids got them and put them on their phones.  They really really wanted them.  They stopped using them about a week later.

Some people choose to purchase phones where a replacement screen is $280. I would do whatever it took to hold onto a phone for dear life if I found myself in that trap, including slathering my hands with stickum like Lester Hayes.

At least when I've seen them used it's less about being able to hold the phone, and more about being able to hold your phone with one hand while still having the ability to reach all four corners of the screen with your thumb on these larger and larger sized screens. I own a phone with a 6.5" screen and I can hold it just fine but there are times when I need to use two hands to reach all corners of the screen. I can palm a basketball but I can't palm a medicine ball..... so I don't consider myself a FBG.

The problem I have with these popsockets is they look like they make the phone much less pocketable. Maybe another reason you see so many women carry them is because they are much more likely to carry their phone in a bag/purse than a pocket so that's not an issue for them.

Daughter and wife have one.

Saw my coworker with one and I don't know...it just felt like I was at lunch with someone wearing a fanny pack.
