News: Clinton Portis bruised his ribs during the first quarter of Sunday's game, the Associated Press reports.
Spin: X-rays on his ribs were negative. The bruised ribs may explain why Ladell Betts was given as many carries as Portis. Although Betts is expected to steal some of Portis' carries this year, he may have gotten more than usual on Sunday due to Portis' injury.

However, if the 50-50 split on carries is a plan for the future then
Honestly, everyone knows Portis is clearly the better football player and so does Joe Gibbs. Eventually I'd like to think the Skins are smart enough to work more towards an 80-20 split of carries instead of this stupid 50-50.
