Portland, Oregon - Overrated or Underrated? (1 Viewer)

It has nothing to do with Portland or Seattle but wanted to comment that I've never seen a snow clearing done as well as Denver last week.

About a foot of snow dropped in about 24 hours and they had hundreds of snow plows out on the road...you could see those blue lights everywhere all night.

Every road, freeway and side road was clear within 24 hours.

Small town Texan here, hopefully I'll be calling Seattle my home one day.

From what I see online rent is super crazy there.

I was just looking at a listing for a 1 bedroom for 2400 a month.

In Texas that gets you a freakin' ranch.

I don't even want to know that they want in the bay area.

I rented a pretty nice 1 BR condo in a good location in SF from 2010 to 2012 for about that price. Now places like that are in the $3,500-$4,250 range.

OVERRATED

In May, you live "just outside" the city, you are a tourist.

UNDERRATED

In September, you actually live in the city close to work or at the very least on the light rail line, you are a resident.
