Post bye syndrom... (1 Viewer)

I have looked at the obligatory starters from last year in my big money league: top12QBs / top12RBs / top24WRs... and found out that, on average:

1. The QBs coming off their bye week scored 2.1 more points than their season average (15.7 vs 13.6)

2. The RBs coming off their bye week scored 0.4 less points than their season average (11.5 vs 11.9)

3. The WRs coming off their bye week scored 1.9 more points than their season average (13.1 vs 11.2)

I know I'm reading way much into this small size sample and that can't serve to be a statistically significant study... but I'm wondering if it had been looked at in the past, and if so, if any interesting conclusions were drawn from it...

I'm guessing that having the opportunity to heal nagging injuries and having two weeks to prepare for you opponent (who doesn't have that luxury most of the time - unless they have the same bye week as you) would be an advantage... Or, is it irrelevant and only the "quality" of your opponent is at stake (i.e. facing the Bears / Steelers / Ravens defense coming your bye week won't be of any help - you'd prefer the Titans / Texans / Packers even though you only have one week to prepare)...

Thoughts...
