Post with formulas to rank rookie RBs? (1 Viewer)

There was someone here who did some detailed work splitting the RBs into different categories (based on size) and what characteristics made success in the NFL more likely.

Can anyone dig up a link to that post?

They later said that they had progressed 'beyond' the method they posted here, but I still found it interesting.

Are you talking about BMI (body mass index)?http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=415175&st=0&p=9092191&hl=&quot
BMI was part of it, and from that post, I think it may have been by wdcrob, but that wasn't the particular post I had in mind.

That's very interesting! Has anyone run the numbers for the RBs in this draft class?
I did a spreadsheet real quick herehttps://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AseMyjzMkbP2dHhaNjV2dHFwaFNsYkhsZk9vbjRJMXc&hl=en&authkey=CKn77LcMA couple workout warriors this year skew things (Scott and Fannin). Pretty much anything over 100 is "good".

Not to overreact, but as a Buckeye fan seeing Brandon Saine get 114 makes me laugh. Unless he converts to WR in the NFL he has no future.

I think those scores are more to disregard RB's than to consider them. What about Taiwan Jones with his 4.32/4.35 40 time?

This has to be flawed, Williams and Ingram are both below 95! My "sleeper" Johnny White didn't do much better. Taiwan Jones, though dominates in this little stat!

I updated it with a few pro day times. Taiwan didn't run at the combine. With a 4.32 time he's at 111. Devine also does well with a 109.

If you use Williams pro day time instead of his combine time, he's > 100 too.

No guez BMI is the stat to look at. Nothing else matters. If a runningback doesn't have proportionate weight to height they will fail. No doubt.
