I agree with this also. It was a very nice move that Andy made there creating value for himself. That itself mitigates the value lost on giving up next years pick.I agree with that strategy of moving up to take a guy you might need thereby pushing down a tier of players to you at another spot. Good move. I've been on the fence with Bernard a little recently so it's interesting when he goes early in non-PPR. Thanks for the insight into your thinking.I wrestled with it for a long time. It came down to talent AND opportunity.Just curious, but what do you like about Bernard in a non-PPR league over Bell, Lacy or Ball? BTW, nice value w/Hunter at 2.1. Probably won't see that too often.
After the NFL draft I thought for sure I'd take Lacy even with Franklin, but I still think the Pack are a pass first team so I shied away from the decreased opportunity.
Bell has really good opportunity but he just doesn't seem that talented.
It really came down to Ball vs. Gio and I just think that Gio will get more opportunity to use his talent. I don't think BJGE is very good.
I don't think any four of these guys are wrong to take with the #1.
I got Hunter at that spot after a bit of a gamble. I traded a #1 next year for the 1.9 not only to draft Eifert but to make sure that Allen, Hunter, and Wheaton would get pushed down one spot and almost guarantee me one of them at 2.1. I think I got lucky that it was Hunter.
Taking Bernard over Bell in this format would have been a difficult choice for me. I like both of them quite a bit.
