Post Your 2025 Rookie Drafts Here (3 Viewers)

I wonder how we’re going to feel about some of these players this time next year.

Well, it might be something better placed for another thread, but I'll humour the post and go with what I think of the picks I made last year:

#13 - Brian Thomas - Superb. Passed all expectations. Already dealt him at what I thought was a sell high point to lock up Nabers in a trade
#18 - Blake Corum - Maybe hoped for a bit more in year one, but didn't quite work out that quickly for reasons that aren't necessarily Blake's, value definitely down but pick could be worse for sure
#23 - Jaylen Wright - Expected zero year one with a good 1-2 punch ahead of him but maybe could have shown more with the chances he did get. Critical year two you feel
#36 - Braelon Allen - Feeling good about this one. Shown some pieces when Hall hasn't been 100%, definitely room to improve and reasons to be optimistic here
#40 - Isaac Guerendo - Seemed very reliant on injuries hitting to have any relevance year one and certainly a longer term project, but things haven't worked out badly for sure
#45 - Jared Wiley - Basically a dart throw that either Kelce got bored/injured, or the other guy who was the TE2 did the same, and you get some signs that you can get something that might work in a good offense. Didn't pan out but the process seems fine
#50 - Rasheen Ali - Mr Irrelevant dart throw that was completely irrelevant with Henry doing Henry things and Ali having his own injury issues
#UDFA - Devaughn Vele - Pulled onto the taxi squad, showed some promise but not enough where I can actually use him in any sort of trade sadly
#UDFA - Jase McClellan - Another taxi squad ultra speculative dart throw which went as expected
I need a shower after reading most of that.

That's an excellent draft for what the class was. Even if every other pick busts, #13 is a homerun that makes the class.

Beyond that, bad early indicators on Corum and Wright, but there's still hope. Good value at those spots for the time. Allen / Guerendo at 3/4 is a fine duo for that range, basically offering the late 2nd value that Corum and Wright might not hit. Sucks missing out on Bucky at any of those spots, but 11-out-of-12 owners fall into that category. The rest, who cares. Those picks were made to be missed. I still consider Ali, Wiley, and Vele watch list guys that might have trace value in super deep formats.

Pretty chalky but I’m surprised Ward went at 1.4 in a 1QB league.
Besides that, the specific order might be different but the tiers of players in each round seem to really be settled in across all leagues with only an exception here or there.

Yeah, more surprising because the team taking Ward already had 8 QB's on roster, and 5 TE's. After Ward, he took Loveland and Shedeur. Very bizarre to me, but to each his own. He must be planning on trading out his many QB's and TE's at some point.

Yes, hasn't made playoffs in the 4 year history of our league. Has some high quality players because he has early draft picks every year, but his bench is very weak except at QB and TE. I'm attempting to trade for one of his QB's but he seems to overvalue them, so I'm not optimistic.

We have one of those in our 16 teamer.

I’m the opposite. I “get by” with mid level QBs and stock up at the other positions. He’s always trying to trade me a QB during the season. Kind of funny.

Ridiculous right? It’s that weird, old school “well, QBs score the most points” mentality that I thought would be gone by now in this day and age of fantasy information being everywhere. You’d think that concepts like scarcity and readily available top 200 overall lists (where all positions are ranked with each other) would wake these people up.
But I’d do the same as you: stock up on RB, WR, TE and grab a top 15 QB and proceed to make the playoffs every year while that team fights for their top 5 rookie draft pick each season. :)

I have posted 5 or 6 of my rookie drafts in this thread, but hope you guys would allow me to stray for a second and ask if you would trade the 1.9 and 2.5 rookie picks to move up to the 1.6 pick? It seems a lot of people believe there is a drop off in a single QB, non-TEP league after the top 8 picks (Jeanty, Hampton, McMillan, Hunter, Judkins, Henderson, Harvey, Kaleb Johnson or Egbuka/Golden) I should also comment while the rookie TEs are likely there, I'm not incline to take them at 1.9 either (I have LaPorta and Pitts on my roster) So would you make this trade or sit tight?

I would. 6 is a prime spot this year.

A good argument can be made for both sides of that trade.

Only if dummies in the top 8 take a QB or TE

Only if dummies in the top 8 take a QB or TE
The 2.5 is good compensation to move down 3 spots

Not those 3 spots

IMO of course 😎

I think it’s arrogant of us to think we can be that accurate IMO of course. :shades: Or at the end of the day it really matters all that much. The 2.5 is a good player this year.

In 12 team single QB TE premium, I'd take the 1.09 and 2.05 side over pick 1.06 this year.

In non TE premium I still probably take that side as well.

if I needed a TE I might agree with that, but I needed RBs (and WRs) more and was confident Harvey & Kaleb Johnson would be gone by 1.9. Plus I have 4 other picks in the 2nd/3rd/4th rounds.

Jeanty
Hunter
Hampton
Henderson
Judkins
Kaleb Johnson

Blue
Kyle Williams
Noel
Sampson
Ward

Jordan James
Sanders

SF, TEP, with IDP and 90+ size rosters. IDP scores insanely well in this league. There's a reason I had the #2 pick (in orange)...my team sucks. Needed LB and TE badly. This is a 40 team league with 8 teams in 5 conferences with a copy of each player in each conference.
