So I drafted Prater and no backup K (why would you?).

Am I hosed the first week? That's ridiculous if so that you can't pick up FA's before the season.

Yes that's why some owners draft 2 kickers. Just to be safe. But yea you're screwed. For week 1 at least

Yeah, the Prater ruling has to do with when you draft. Get a new gig.
