I posted this in the Shark Pool but wanted to share here too. If you're subscribed to the Footballguys Newsletter, please keep an eye on your inbox Monday 7/7. We’re about to unveil one of the best projects we've undertaken in a long time.

We’ve been pouring ourselves into it since February, and I can’t wait to share it with you. As the world moves further and faster into digital technology, this product is a bit of a throwback, with a ton of heart, and I think you're going to love it.

Please keep an eye out. I'm thinking the Footballguys Forums will be our most important audience for this product.

Congrats on figuring out how to get yoga pants their due!

Or whatever else might be coming...seriously- without knowing, and i dont have to because you guys have done outstanding work here in general- well done and congrats.

Will you post it in the forums for those of us who don't get the newsletter any more?

Of course, GB. The Footballguys Forums have been a foundational part of everything we do since day one.

The folks here are our best people. If I can’t get y’all to support this project, I’ve got very little shot with our larger audience of subscribers and the Internet as a whole.

I’ll give y’all first access here before I share with anyone else.

I’m super proud of what we built and I’m excited to launch it. But I’m also scared to death with how it sells.

Like lots of things, we will see!

Ok. Forum Folks are the first to see this. As I said, you've always been the foundation of Footballguys.

We made a print magazine for Footballguys.

Pre order here: https://shop.footballguys.com/pages/magazine

Here's the message I'm sending today:
For 25 years, Footballguys has helped fantasy players like you draft smarter, make better decisions, and win more leagues.

Now, we’ve poured everything we’ve learned into our 2025 Footballguys Draft Guide limited-edition print magazine. It's a beautiful, collector-worthy piece you can actually hold in your hands.

You’ve been with us. Drafting. Debating. Dominating.

And this is our way of saying thanks, and marking the moment. And giving you the edge you need to crush your drafts this year.

As the world moves further and faster into digital technology, this product is a bit of a throwback, with a ton of heart.

And I think it's exactly the right way to kick off this season.

This is more than a Draft Guide. It’s a celebration of the Fantasy Football and Footballguys community we’ve built together. And it’s made for you.

Pre-Order Your Copy Now. They're going to press next week and will ship the first week of August.

We're offering $5 off for Pre-Orders plus Free Shipping. https://shop.footballguys.com/pages/magazine

Only a limited number will be printed. When they’re gone, they’re gone.

Thanks for making Footballguys what it is. We hope this magazine finds a spot on your shelf. And in your story.

Thanks for being part of this wild ride. And be nice to your Commissioner.

I look back fondly on days past when I'd stock up on half-a-dozen summer FF magazines. This debut FBG is kind of a look back and a look forward at the same time.

From what I can judge the FF print magazine space has sharply contracted since, say, 25-30 years ago. But (at least IMHO) the quality offerings generally have remained while the more superficial and less-considered ones faded away. All to say that there is room in the field for another high-quality offering.

Good luck.

Christmas in July!
Errr....I guess August according to the fine print
Could be a shrewd move. FBG's biggest single competitor (at least in my outside-of-the-industry opinion) always made a point of publishing later than their competitors, waiting until the first week of July every year. FBGs going a full month later should make the information contained therein at lease somewhat more relevant to drafters (more to the mid-August folks than the night-before-Week1 drafters).

Christopher Harris does an "almanac" most years that gives me a magazine vibe (it's just a PDF though). Where he does a version (I think) late July with an update further into preseason.

Sometimes you're down to a couple of players and reading a deep dive is helpful. Static rankings don't always capture the risk profile or fit to the rest of your squad. And reading something physical helps connect your thoughts in ways that other methods don't.

Thanks GB. That's a great point.

The primary challenge of a print magazine of course is the delay in time from signing off with the printer to actually having the magazines in a readers hand.

Some of our competitors have the advantage of already being available. And that's a plus for them. The downside of course is the timing meant they have Aaron Rodgers as a Free Agent. And Jonnu Smith in Miami etc. We'll have those moves but we'll also not be in readers hands until August. Merits of both sides of course. I do like the path we chose. We'll see.

Cool! Just ordered mine.

Circa 1997-2000, there were several outfits putting out fantasy football magazines as early as late May. At first, picking up one of the early-bird mags was a fun way to get into fantasy prep ... a visual reminder that draft season was just around the corner. Turned out, though, that the early-bird magazines were really fluffy and offered only superficial analysis -- basically a host of FF cliches (3rd year WR! Contract year!), a regurgitation of the prior year's stats, plus a few dart throws.

Casual FF fans were probably a good market for FF magazines back in the 1990s. Today, though, the casuals get plenty of free info online ... enough to credibly navigate a draft. That suggests that today's magazine audience are the fans who want the deep dives and new ways of looking at the information (e.g. I remember when looking at targets was bleeding-edge stuff). Should FBGs successfully offer that in print form, there'll be a market for the book.

Just bought my copy. Call me old fashioned, but I love a good long form printed read on stuff sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, the Draft Dominator is huge for me and all the content FBG generates is great, but it can also be a bit overwhelming and sometimes becomes info overload.

This should be arriving right before I leave for vacation. So a nice physical magazine in hand sitting on the hotel balcony overlooking Acadia while the family rests sounds pretty great.

Since I don't play fantasy anymore, things like projections and rankings don't really interest me. However, articles on draft strategies, best practices, or data analysis is something I'd find interesting. Like an academic journal for fantasy football. I always enjoyed discussing Stud RB Theory, or VBD, or what the data suggest is the peak age for a WR. That stuff was always more interesting to me.

Good luck with it. Probably order a copy for fun. Years ago I sold advertising for an outdoor magazine. A tough gig.

I can't even imagine how much I spent on FF magazines back in the day, plus books like Cliff Charpentier's.

Anyway, order placed.

I used to spend a bunch of time deciding on what magazine I'd be willing to buy for my $8.99. If they had IDP I was very interested. I probably spent more time deciding which magazine to buy than I have picking out a car or finding a dentist.

Didn't you guys have a magazine once before? Like 2004 or so?

I'm with you; I like a print copy. Something I can hold and take notes in. Look forward to getting mine!

You'll be happy to know GB, we included IDP rankings in this one. That was a point of discussion as unlike the website, there's a finite number of pages allowed.

My thinking was IDP is a foundational part of what we do and it was a must have for the magazine.

Ordered! If only for nostalgia. But I’m excited.

Thank you! I do find myself drawn to the nostalgia part.

We went with nicer paper and a larger 9x12 size too as I wanted it to be as good as possible. Less profitable, but I like it better this way.
Sweet!

And thanks for the idp content. The goofy $50 dynasty idp league I started 19! Years ago, because I was exposed to idp here, is possibly my favorite league.

Right on! I know IDP is a bit of a niche market but I love playing in leagues with that as an option. Adding that to your magazine makes you look sophisticated, IMO.

Hopefully the font size is appropriate for the over 50 crowd. :stalker:

Can't wait to get mine!
