President Trump deserves credit for... (1 Viewer)

Lots of people are hurting in real time because Trump is bitter about losing the election. He deserves no credit for this.
It's a complete farce of a "stimulus".  This is a "even a clock is right twice a day" kind of thing.

I give Trump credit for not supporting this garbage budget with crappy COVID support.

Pull COVID out of that garbage budget, pass it separate for $2k and proper unemployment benefits.
His goals with threatening a veto never were about what was in the actual bill. He was always going to sign it. News cycle timing just dictated when.

Am I the only one surprised at the environmental measures included in this bill?  Seems to be proof that no one is reading these things...shocked Trump would sign something like that given his professed stance on the environment and climate science :oldunsure:

He’s checked out.

Wasn’t he complaining about a handful of funding to other countries that was in this, when the budget he proposed had the same amounts to the same countries?

Do we still give him credit for warp speed?  When the roll out of the vaccines have been pretty poor and far below what they claimed would happen?

   Sadly, yes.  They gave him EXACTLY what he asked for.  All that's missing is the big top circus music.

Who in their right mind was giving him credit for that. What's happening now could be seen from miles away. Take credit for the good part then put the burden on under funded states to do the hard part (distribution) then point the finger when they're not successful.

That is his life story.

DJT deserves credit for NOTHING. He's done nothing good. Period.

If you want to talk about the incredible hardships he's placed on millions of Americans.....he deserves credit for that. He deserves credit for being the absolute worst president in my lifetime. He deserves credit for destroying relationships with our allies around the globe. He deserves credit for stealing money from taxpayers. He deserves credit for doing the least amount of work ever in one term as president. I could go on about his failures (tariffs on China) but, it's not necessary.

Wrong.

I’ve been thinking about this all week. My conclusion is yes and no.

The first part of getting the vaccine out there was it’s development. My understanding is that this was helped greatly by streamlining and reducing unnecessary red tape and restrictions, and that this was done at Trump’s instruction. Therefore he gets credit for this and it’s a pretty big deal, IMO.
But the rollout is having major problems and now Trump is back to his earlier attitude of blaming the states. I don’t know if this is simply an means to pass blame or a plan of his from the beginning that the federal government would only do so much; either way it is gross incompetence. Back in March President Trump directly called the Covid crisis the equivalent of wartime; one doesn’t wage war by telling states it’s their responsibility.

So in my estimation he gets a mixed grade for this: C minus.

I know folks will think this is not sincere but I promise it is.  Trump deserves a lot of credit for somehow convincing GOP votes that he's not a RINO and life-long Republicans somehow are.  I no longer support the GOP so I'm not a good person to ask which way the party should go but his ability to sway people to his side is impressive, even if I personally find it a little crazy.

My buddy and I were talking about how he's been throwing around "RINO" in tweets and speeches for a while now.  It's amazing because he's probably the epitome of a RINO.  What he's done is basically co-op the party and now it's his party.  There's not too many people who could have done it.

:goodposting:

I think some life-long conservatives are waking up to this now.

Ive said for a long time...his greatest asset is his ability to market himself.  Convince people he is something other than what he has shown himself to be throughout his life.  Getting the "common man" to think Trump is for him and against the elites.  Convince Republicans that, despite being a Democrat for much of his life, he really is just a Republican.  And still convince them of that as he goes against actual long time conservative values.

I am with you on not being able to support this GOP...but I think those of us who used to are good people to ask about where the party should go to get away from losing conservatives as they seem to be doing.

And I get he is good at the convincing...but I am not sure I will ever understand what about him has made people go that "all-in" with him.  What about him was so appealing that people who seem to turn from what they had previously believed about things are with him and only him.

I think he deserves credit (from the far left) for being a driving force for the last four years that pushes this country further left.

Mystery of the universe. So puzzling because I'm repulsed by him.
