Prime Thursday**Eagles (7-0) at Texans (1-5-1)** (+14) (45.5) (1 Viewer)

They're all in their 70s. LOTS of people in their 70s have dementia

It's more of something that happens in your eighties, I believe.

Here, I just found a dementia fact sheet.

RISK

Women, People Ages 85 and Older, and Racial and Ethnic Minorities Face Greater Dementia Risk

Dementia is more prevalent at older ages. About 3% of adults ages 70 to 74 had dementia in 2019, compared with 22% of adults ages 85 to 89 and 33% of adults ages 90 and older.6

33%, my God. We have a family history of 90+ but no dementia. I don't think I want to be in my 90's, and if I am and have dementia, feel free to slip me a deadly IV.

That right there is Gannon’s whole defensive philosophy- make a team run tons of plays to score on you. Don’t give up any big plays. Keep everything in front of you.

Eventually, we’ll take it away from you. I hate that philosophy, but it works, apparently. At least when you have a cupcake schedule. Playoffs? I don’t like it. we have the talent to stay aggressive.

All true, but ignores confounding risk factors such as race, obesity, etc.
Not trying to suggest that most of the Phins are simple dementia and none CTE...but I am suggesting that they certainly aren't all CTE. Further, how many showed significant signs before their 70s?

As I have mentioned previously in these Inter-Conference match ups with gigantic point spreads and the 2 teams never see each other, you typically take the points.
Green Bay vs Buffalo last week, Packers actually covered even losing the game 27-17, incredible as it is.

We will continue to press this betting rule from yesteryear and see if it proves true in the modern newfangled data driven NFL we have created.

Philadelphia is -14 and I really don't want to bet against them, it doesn't work out well I gotta tell you but I want to try and test fire this rocket. Now Philly will tell you that they did this very scenario last week vs the Steelers and I would just simply say, let's see if they can buck the trend 2 weeks in a row. Another feather in their cap, blast a team on a short week on top of traveling and being the road favorite. Piece of cake as they say

I noticed "C. Moore" in the box score last week. Had never heard of him. Just looked him up and he's been in the league since 2016.

The Eagles should be up 5 TD by halftime and have their JV in by the 4th quarter. But this is the Texans Super Bowl, I won't say it's a total trap game for the Eagles, but I can see a situation where they aren't all that motivated and have some mental lapses playing on the road on a short week against a team they aren't that familiar with. The Texans don't turn the ball over a ton. The Eagles should be able to run the ball effectively, but maybe the Texans can tackle better than they did against Henry. I could see it being a one or two possession game (maybe 16-10?) into the third quarter before the Eagles play a a couple of series like they normally do (to make it 30-10). Houston could get a garbage time score to cover (30-17). I am leery of road teams having to give so many points.
The game went pretty close to what I was thinking. Close game into the third, Eagles played better the rest of the way but didn’t cover.

All I could think of watching this game was all of us Jonathan Taylor owners would kill to have him run behind either of these O-Lines. Huge holes all night.

Amazon sure puts on a good production.
Let's discuss this because there are Pros and Cons to it all

-I missed the performances at midnight but in theory I like it, Thursday Night is a late night party for some folks, West Coast is just waking up at 9pm, it's a good thing/
-The on field studio they bring in the stadium each week is very well put together. Fitzpatrick and Sherman are pretty good flavoring baked into the set although Fitz doesn't always deliver the goods when he is breaking down what teams are doing. But they are entertaining and the only studio crew I even listen to. Fox Sundays with Terry and Jimmy and Howie, at least 5 years since I have even turned the dial to them.

The Bad...
-Herbstreit is incredibly vanilla and Capt Obvious, I feel like I am listening to an SEC or Big 12 match up and he just adds nothing because he never stepped foot on an NFL field, he is absolutely the weakest link in that entire Amazon Prime arc on Thursday. I can go on and on about him and typically choose not to in the game threads because I know he is universally accepted as the voice of college football which bothers the **** out of me. I was hoping by avoiding discussing him that he might go away after a year but I have a bad feeling he will now be involved with the NFL until I'm, well let's just say a very old man before Kirk retires. Ughhhhhh

-I hate that I have to enter and exit the App, wanted to scroll down to the World Series last night when commercial start but NO NO NO you can't do that. I watch 6 hours of RedZone on Sunday, hard to sit thru a game where you can't flip around as much.

Several others are trying to join in on the next NFL go around for networks and different platforms. I hear Apple wants IN and others are trying to get into a bidding war so they can show 1 or 2 games. There's talk of a Friday Night game, I wish they would do a doubleheader and have one start at 7 and one at 8:30 like they did earlier in the year. They don't need 10 games running at the same time at 1:00 on Sundays, 4 would be plenty and 4 more in the afternoon, that leaves another 6-8 for TNF, SNF, MNF and there's a couple games left that could be broadcast on their own night or Primetime for Apple as an example.

Cheers BnB

Short on time and maybe another thread is warranted?

Loved the Lynch segment.

Didn't think about your issue of surfing between stations. I got home at kickoff and watched some of the pre-game on delay. From there I was an hour behind the game. Skipping the commericials and halftime had me back live at the second half two minute warning. I'm use the direct TV ap for my other TV which doesn't have the option to start from beginning....or at least that I've found.

Ummmmm....welcome to something other then work leagues?

Ah yeah, f you too. I don't think he is widely known, and I know a lot of players.
Was never personal my friend. Chris Moore isn't exactly a rookie free agent or anything though, and in deeper leagues he's rostered, and even started in one of my leagues this week.

Maybe it's just because of a relatively common name you didn't recognize?

Dude is flat out horrible. His voice is nice and good but he's captain obvious and tends to show his bias as well. I was shocked they didn't get Dan Orlovsky for TNF. The dude is great SEC ESPN Saturday nights. He's like the Tony Romo of college football commentary without announcing plays before they happen. And he's already on NFL Live and such. He probably has a very comfy $$$ wise job with ESPN but that guy would make an excellent QB Coach somewhere.

Only 1 out of 12 in my weekly Pick'em Pool, that's huge usually when 1 or maybe 2 game swings will decide the winner that week.
HOU +14
Thank you!
