Such a shame that it's come to this. When I was a kid, I enjoyed the Pro Bowl more than the Super Bowl. Crazy, I know. But I loved the camaraderie between players who were normally enemies, and back in the 70s and 80s, guys weren't making the ridiculous money they make now, so they actually .... gave an effort and tried to win.
But it's time. The "game" I witnessed the past couple of years was sickening to watch.

with highlights 24/7/365, trades, free agency, constant dooshiness reported on all players, and lack of desire to winPro-bowl/All Star games will never be what they used to be.
lets hear it from everyone(me included) who had Brees when Peppers hits him and dislocates his elbow. i traded damn Brees thinking shoulder and elbow dislocations in a short time would hurt his career..........oops

In the end it comes down to "contact". In today's NFL it is ludicrous to throw these guys out there in a meaningless game. Some sports translate better than others when you take the contact out; I am a big hockey guy, and you can actually play the game without the hits...the NFL is literally about hitting the guy infront of you and each play requires at least one hit. Not due to the management/players/etc. involved, but the NHL can use the game as a tool where the NFL has seen it become a sore spot...really, just the nature of the game and stakes.
It means a TON to the economy in Hawaii but it is time.
As much as I love football, this is one game I don't watch and I only check afterwards to make sure none of my fantasy players got into some freak accident.
The ONLY thing I like about this game is seeing all the different team helmets lined up with one another on each side of the ball (that's pretty cool).
each elected all-pro, pro bowler, whatever....gets to pick one cheerleader from their respective squads to represent them in a lingerie version of the game on the island....they have to play the position of the guy they were selected by....
would be fun to do some kind of skills challenge instead. Obstacle courses for RBs, throwing challenges for QBs, feats of strength for linemen... something fun but still somewhat competitive.
