I have no horse in whatever race is going on but New England RB Robert Edwards Pro Bowl injury wasn't even suffered in the Pro Bowl game.

Robert Edwards tore up his knee in a pickup flag football game on the beach while he was attending the Pro Bowl.

It occured some time ago so some people may have forgotten or over time assumed he was injured in the actual Pro Bowl game but he hurt his knee outside of the game.Carry on.

It wasn't a pickup game, it was a sanctioned Pro Bowl event. Possibly just for rookies. But it was most definitely an official function of the NFL, not a pickup game.
