Projections Dominator (1 Viewer)

this is tough, deciding how much you want to weight certian things. i do have a question though.

say i want to weight 2003, 04, and 05 10% each. what about players who didnt play in 04 (injury, backup, in college, etc...) how is this handled.

like if i weight 03 04 and 05....does 03 and 04 count against caddy because he had no stats? id really like to know more about this. thanks.

When I looked at Caddy it had dropped my weights for 2004, so it didn't average in zeros.

i guess it then becomes partial seasons due to injury? ie javon walker.....missing nearly entire season. hopefully somone can shed some light on this.

in looking at walker looks like he gets penalized for the injury....i wish there was somehow you could zero out the weights for player who had significant injury (4 or more games missed) without going to each specific player.

Why weight the past years anyway? Just split the weights among Dodds and the rest of the staff. I went with a 40/15/15/15/15 split.

You have to figure that the people doing the projections were all familiar with the previous years' stats and took them into account. So weighting the past years in the Projections Dominator is double-counting them.If you are not giving any weight to the projections and would just like to see what different combinations of weights for previous years' stats look like, then never mind.

(I am quoting radballs not to answer his question, but to express agreement with its motivation.)

Cool though that you can put in past years' stats. Maybe I'll have to bump up Maurile's weight a bit and drop Dodds down. :D

Okay, still playing.

But it seems like no matter what I do, when I import the new PD file into DD the projections stay the same. :(

That is, when I do the weights in PD Manning ends up with 365 ptswith 6/TD and

-2/int.

But after I import into DD, Manning stays at 340.5, which is what he is when I enter that scoring scheme into a "new" DD file.

Oddly, when I weight Chris Smith 100% PD shows Manning at 402 pts.

Then when I import to DD I get 375.1 for points.

Scoring system looks same. I MUST BE DOING SOMETHING WRONG...but not sure.

When entering general/scoring/vbd baseline, make sure you hit the "save general" etc. button up top.

Right now you would then have to go edit the weights on the players where it does not work (ie the weights do not add up to 100%). This is also true if you weigh against Tremblay, Henry and I and one of us does not project for the player. This will be a lot smoother in the premium version which should be released in 7-10 days. The premium version will also let you click a button to automatically get new data.So the process is:1. Apply global weights2. Click on the players and reassign indivual weights where needed.3. Override with own data where you reject the math.4. Save as a Dominator file.

Alright, I guess I am mathematically challenged.

But in DD I think it computes and shows Chris' projected fantasy points. Scoring set at .05 passing yards, 6 pts per TD, -2 INT.

Chris has Manning at 4500/33/13. I (and DD) work that out to be about 375 pts.

But PD shows Manning (and Chris' projected points) at 402...and it prints that way on the cheatsheet.

I have triple checked having set scoring right and saved.

Thoughts?

For the Fantasy Points to match up in the DD, try unchecking the Use Weekly Weights on the bottom of the Game By Game screen and click Recalculate. The weekly weights by default don't count week 17. Also in the DD double check in File -> Setup -> Projections and see if the projections match the ones you imported.
