Projections (1 Viewer)

Fairly new user of FBG and I like the site a lot. We used CBS for our league site.

My question for those who are familiar, is an honest, un-biased comparision of the quality of the projections of the FBG staff vs. CBS Sportsline. This isn't the most objective place to discuss, obviously, but have you noticed much difference in the quality of projections between the two sites in past years?

No difference, stick with Sportsline :sarcasm:

Obviously I would be biased to answer this and to be honest I haven't checked out their projections in a very long time. What I can say though is that we have a dedicated, hard working staff that stay on top of the day-to-day news, past history, current trends and anything else we can dissect and analyze in order to bring you, the fantasy owner, the best possible set of projections on the net.

Are we perfect? I would love to answer yes but that my friend would be an untruth. However I will put the quality of our projections up against anybody on the entire Internet.

David D's individual player stats match up to each team's numbers which in turn are similar to the past trends...

Stick with us. We won't disappoint

First off, welcome.

Second, part of what makes FBG top notch is the forum you're reading right now. While I did not post projections in my rookie season on staff here, everyone on staff knows that hundreds of FBGs are watching our rankings and projections. The dynamics on this site are quite high, and even without backstage info of what other sites are doing, I'd say that they would be hard pressed to match us.

I can only talk to my rankings, but let's say that if my rankings had someone way too high or low, I'd hear about it. In fact, you could PM someone about their rankings and more often than not you'll hear back in a day or two what the thought was.

When a ranking is different that the consensus, either there is conviction with that ranking or there is a mistake. Either way, you will hear what we thought when we made that decision, and it may change your mind about your thoughts on the player - at the very minimum it will give you another viewpoint. You will know that we take a look at it as a result, and you get a better ranking, and then everyone gets more confidence in the overall product.
