Yeah, this was going on in at least back in '07. Kind of standard now. Awful. Just elevating expectations of guys through the roof.

Back in the day, a lot of guys didn't even want to go to the prom, and those were the cool ones. So I guess they kind of weeded themselves out from the asking process, in a way.

I would venture to guess that just as many guys want to do this as young women expect it, so I wouldn't go as far as to say that it elevates expectations on the guys.

I went to Prom in 00 and people were doing this stuff, just not on video. Never heard the term promposal though. I don't have a problem with it. It's better than the alternative that I see all the time in school which is boys making no attempt at all to meet and to know the girls in class. I'll pair up some guy in class that I like with a cute girl and the kid can't even begin a conversation or they want to talk about anime with this cheerleader. Smh.

The other issue are the DBs that try to grope every other girl in the hallway and are just constantly pressuring girls to hook up with them, making suggestive or even lewd comments, etc.

Guys making an effort in a respectful way is good even if is cheesy or over the top.

we live in a :lam: video society, simple. the goal of everyone in the u.s. seemingly is to have likes, have a viral video or have their own 'reality' show.

every story has this angle, well that and teachers having teh secks with students.
