Proposed Auction Keeper League Rules (1 Viewer)

I’m converting a regular league to an auction keeper league. How do these settings look? Am I missing or overlooking anything?

As others have said, I want to make sure

1) no team is dominant year after year, but

2) want to reward those who draft well and find value players.

Here's what I'm proposing:

10 teams

24 players on roster (QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/T, W/R/T, K, DEF, D, D, DB, DL, 10 bench)

$300 draft budget

$150 FAAB budget

Keep 2 to 5 players (no limit to years kept)

Max Keeper value of $120 (be it 2 players or 5)

$5 increase for keeper from draft value or Wavier Wire value, plus 10 % of sum, rounded up (player x drafted for $20 to keep is $28)

Keeper Value is subtracted from cap (keep 3 players with a total of $60 value you start the draft with $240)

Thank you so much for any thoughts and advice!

If you are doing this...

$5 increase for keeper from draft value or Wavier Wire value, plus 10 % of sum, rounded up (player x drafted for $20 to keep is $28)
then I don't think you need these...
Keep 2 to 5 players (no limit to years kept)Max Keeper value of $120 (be it 2 players or 5)
Upping the salaries will force teams to cut players to be under the cap.And I would suggest changing to a $200 cap. This will help with the year to year turnover.

Thanks for your thoughts, C & C. I know $200 is the standard, but I went with $300 because I was in a league with that amount last year and liked it, and found encouragement in Pasquino's article on Auction League Types where he wrote:

"While most auctions usually go with a $200 budget for teams, that number is far from set in stone. If the number is bigger, it is usually a better idea as the differences in values in Phase 2 will really start to shine. By having more money, you can spread out the middle of the road players and not feel the pain of that extra dollar bid nearly as much. This also makes the difference between $1 and $2 bids at the tail end of the auction far less dramatic and important."

Am I missing something?

Here are our rules:

$200 Draft Cap

Previous years playoff teams can keep up to 2 players while non-playoff teams can keep up to 3.

Players can only be kept twice without going back in the draft.

Keepers cost 150% of the previous years price. (for example a $50 Aaron Rodgers would cost $75 to keep during year 2 and $113 to keep in year 3 while a $3 Deamrco Murray would cost $5 to keep during year 2 and $8 to keep during year 3)

Undrafted free agents who were on the final roster cost $20 off the draft cap if they are kept plus the owner pays an additional $20 for their league fee.

We like this system because it forces expensive studs back into the draft and really rewards the guys that do their homework and draft a guy before he becomes studly.

I don't think so. My auction dynasty league has a $350 cap and a $2 min. I suggested $200 because you seemed to want to be sure there was turnover of players in the league (limiting the number of players kept). There will be much more impact adding $5 then multiplying by 1.10% if the cap is $200 than there would be if it were $300.eta: I overlooked that you are doing IDP and 24 roster spots. $300 makes more sense to me know and might just be the right number.
