Lost my Spys - I think I'm ready to step up to Maui Jim. You got the Dawn Patrol's in Grey/Rose?
I hit ya back with an email this morning, but no response. :kicksrock:
Just realized the email acct I have tied to my FBG profile is an old yahoo acct that I never check anymore. I just responded to your email.Appreciate it MC!
No problem. I hit you back with another idea as well.

I am really working on boosting my Google online rating. If there are any FBG's that have been happy with their service and wouldn't mind giving me a decent review/rating on Google, I would really appreciate it. PM me for details. I am working on an offer for any FBG that does it for me, so stay tuned. Thanks.
Just let me know what to do. I have no idea what a google rating is but I loved all five of the pairs I bought over the years. I may be due for a new one soon. Also I can't find my favorite pair I got a while back. I think they were Ray Ban Aviators. Can you get them still? Great for big heads.
Thanks. I can PM you the info if you would want. I cannot do Ray-Ban, but there are tons of great aviators in Maui Jim and Smith. Wiki Wiki from Maui Jim is particularly awesome.
PM me the google info and I'll be happy to give you a good reveiw...

MC,

Wife is considering Maui Jim 'Punch Bowl' R219-01 in Chocolate/Rose. Can you shoot me the details please?

Much appreciated.

Hi MC,

I'm in the market for some new sunglasses. Tried on some Ray Ban 3362's and really liked them. Looking for them (or something very similar) in Silver frame with mirrored lenses. Prefer polarized. Let me know if you got anything like this. Thanks.

BTW you can't receive PM's.

So silver aviators. No problem there. Are the silver mirrored lenses a must? And yeah, I cleaned out the inbox. :bag:

MC...sent you a PM/email about a couple pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses comparable to Oakely Tightropes with polarized lenses. Very interested. TIA

Just watched the 60 minutes segment on how an Italian company is raping American consumers in the eye glass world.

Luxottica owns Lens Crafters, Pearl Vision, Sun Glass Hut, Ray Ban and Oakley, and makes most other frames for other companies.

I got out of Luxottica long ago. Yes, they bought those companies several years ago, and also created a vision insurance that feeds itself in many ways. They make their own frames, but they are one of a few that make the vast majority. I would not come close to saying they make most other frames for other companies. How it works is you have a company like Luxottica and they go out and get licenses for their frame lines, such as Anne Klein, Ray Ban, Armani, etc. Another company, for instance, does Juicy, JLo, Kate Spade, Fossil, and a ton of others. One company, many licenses.

I think the 60 minutes piece said it was EyeMed (the 2nd largest vision insurance provider in the US).

Yes it is.

If any of my fellow FBG's are in the market for a screaming deal, then I have the following:

Rudy Project Rydon Performance Sunglass Kit

It contains the black Rydon frame (their most popular) with the following lenses: laser copper, action brown, clear, yellow and racing red. 5 sets of lenses and the frame, all with Rudy's great customer service. The best part is this would qualify you for their Buy-One-Get-one promo, meaning you could then turn around and get a free racing helmet or set of polarized lenses for just their "shipping cost", which is roughly $20 I believe. Normal MSRP on this is $280. I have one set that I will send to the first serious FBG for $160 shipped. I would ask that you send it via paypal as a gift so I do not incur fees, but that is a screaming deal for the first serious FBG I get a PM from. I got a set at a discounted rate and figured to pass along a screaming deal to someone that has supported me in the past.

ETA I am leaving town for 6 days starting Wednesday early AM, so can get them out before then if I have enough notice. Otherwise it would be when I get back.

MC, Your box is full again

Whats up Mad Cow. A few years ago, you sent me an awesome pair of Raybans. I lost them at Disneyworld on Saturday. Do you have anything you are getting rid of again?

If not, no big deal, Ill keep checking the threads for when you do

OK, I will clean it out now. What are you looking for? For amazing deals, that Rudy Project deal is pretty amazing, paying less than cost there.

I will go $150 shipped on this set if anyone wants it. That lets me recoup cost at least. The buy-one-get-one promo, however, is over.

Bump as I kept this thread in the back of my head from a while back. I Watched my mauis sink to the bottom of the lake today as I tried to fix my boat motor that all of a sudden broke down. Double slap in the face. Any chance you have a good price on Maui Jim kanahas or good deal on something similar ? Thnx

Send me a pm and I'll hook you up.

Do you do prescriptions? Looking at a pair of Giorgio Armanis
I do. What pair are you looking for? I can see if I can hook you up.
AR5002.

looking up now that seems to be a popular style. I saw a pair locally but price point was high. Then again transition, progressive polycarbonate lenses might be the biggest factor here.

Send me a PM with the info on what you ordered and I will take a look.

MC, what do you carry that is similar in style to a Smith Method that can take a prescription lens? I'm being told the pair I have are too curved for a prescription.

MC

Looking for MJ Sugar Beach in Rootbeer frame and HCL bronze lens. Tried to send a PM, you are full.
