Public Confrontations you Regret - Spinoff of Florida Shooting (1 Viewer)

I had a guy cut me off in traffic today then come after me when I honked. He followed me into my work parking lot, blocked me in, and came to my driver's door (window down) cussing me and acting like a mouth breather - not yelling, but being very aggressive. I think he saw my 9mm on the passenger's seat, but I'm not sure. He was younger, bigger, and madder than me. I have a temper, and am proud of myself for keeping control. I have a camera in my car that recorded it all. Almost a regrettable morning for me and some idiot.

Are you Russian?

Okay #######s back on topic.

Does this qualify as a public confrontation GM?
We've got witnesses.

I wish MOP would confront some Russians.
I would pay money to see him go off on a drug store manager in Sochi.
Russia would permanently break MOP in a matter of hours. He would come back a gibbering shell fit only for permanent incarceration in an asylum.

Nope, but that is a good line. I think my morning would have been different had I said "if you are not a cop, I will find you and kill you" when he walked up!

My wife and I were driving down to see my parents in VA. We were in her Acura RDX. If any of you know Acura's, you'll know that their projector headlights can be a little too bright, even when on low-beam. I was cruising down the highway at a decent clip, and had a guy in a Jetta in front of me. I rather appreciate fast-moving leaders, so I was content to follow him, and give him room to move in and out as needed. Well, after about 20 minutes behind this guy, he abruptly pulls over and drops speed, so I go past. He then nails his high-beams and pulls right behind me. I drove on for a few minutes thinking he'd stop, but he didn't. I flashed my highs and hazards, and pulled into the slow lane...still nothing. So I pulled into the slow lane and just let off the gas, thinking he'd eventually pass. I literally came to a complete stop in the right lane on I-81. He came to a complete stop behind me. A few semi's blew by honking, etc. After a second of sitting there, and realizing that we could both die if someone hit us, I just floored it and pulled off on the nearest off-ramp. Kid pulled off too, pulled behind me and stopped. I started to get out of the car, and when I did, he sped past. I jumped back in, and followed him for 2 miles around some crap town with my high-beams on him. If he thought they were bright before, he certainly got the point...In retrospect, very very stupid thing to do. We could've been smashed by a truck going 70 MPH on the highway, then the guy could've just as easily shot me when I got out of my car...and finally, I followed him all around a town I didn't know with my high-beams on...Any cop would've called me the aggressor here, even though it started as me just following the guy.

While not in that type of aggressive high beams pursuit situation, I've had dummies with their high beams behind me plenty of times. Usually I adjust my rear view mirror to reflect the light back in their faces and off go the high beams.

Didn't happen to me, but best one I saw was when I was at a Bruins game at the old Boston Gahden (close to 30 yrs ago)... Some drunk punks in their 20s (shocking, I know, at the Gahden!) were getting rowdy and starting harassing a couple of older guys sitting in the row, in the middle seats, in front of them. I was in the section beside them and a couple of rows up and the punks were just relentless... Then, this big guy on the aisle seat in front of me, stands up and says, "You're out..." Boom... drops the guy with one punch and then points to the other guy, "...and you're out too!" Boom... two punches, two KOs. I wouldn't say he got a standing O but a lot of the people around the situation start clapping their approval. Security comes to escort everyone out but the older guys getting harassed explained the situation so the big guy got to stay and the KO'd guys stagger off with security... One of the best things I've ever seen...

I've never been able to get that to work...the angle just doesn't seem to work for me for some reason. I usually ease off the gas and pull over, then pull behind them and re-high beam them for ~5 seconds or so. Enough for them to know it's intentional and get the point, but I'd never leave them on like this schmuck did.

I've never seen anything like that before or since.

Not really fitting with the "regret" portion of the topic, but good story. I love when vigilante justice is recognized and allowed.

Ummm... I regret I wasn't man enough to do or say something to those guys even though I wanted to despite they're being 5 or 6 yrs older than me... I was probably 17 or so at the time...

So he would be pretty much the same. Got it.

On my way with my wife and 12 yr. old daughter to her school conferences, and there is a long winding frontage road into the school parking lot. There was a guy in front of me going extraordinarily slow. I was following close, but not aggressively so. We park and start walking into the school, when out of my peripheral vision, I see a guy coming diagonally towards me. He gets in my face and yells at me for being on his ###. His words were "just because you have a big expensive SUV, doesn't give you the right to tailgate." He caught me totally off guard, I say "what difference does it make what I'm driving?" He then responds "your lucky your wife and kid are with you, I would mess you up." I then say "no, your the lucky one." My wife keeps walking, I catch up and she says, "well, you were tailgating him." I'm like wtf?

Some drunk guido grabbed a girl I was on a date with at a bar. I defended her and wound up fighting five guys and got a bottle broken over my head. I came away without a scratch but she turned out to be a real ##### so I wish I hadnt defended her
Taking on five guys and coming out without a scratch...bet your karate training came in handy. Time to bump that thread!
Not karate. I grabbed the smallest guy and flung him in to the others. I dodged and blocked a couple punches and then I absorbed two with the crown of my head and then the bouncer came and broke it up. We were going to continue outside but a girl shouted she was going to call the cops so we just ended it. None of those guys were as big as me.
You neglected to mention the bottle.

Maybe it was the Guido, and his buddies Jack, Jim, Jose, and Bud. Bud was the little guy he flung at the others...and maybe the one that he got hit in the head with...
