Pulled the trigger on trading AP (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys,

I noticed a lot of threads on what was Peterson's trade value leading up to week two. I'm not looking for any praise for this deal (although I suspect some may lambaste me which is cool). I just wanted to pass along the secenarios that were available to me since many are in the same position I was in having Peterson as my third back. As you can see in my sig, I have LT and Rudi as my starters (we can only start 2 RB and 2WR or 1 RB and 3 WR). I tried desperatly to trade AP even up for Reggie Wayne but the owner turned it down at the last second. He also was the owner most disgusted with me drafting AP ahead of him at the league draft. I also put out feelers to the Harrison/R. Moss/Bush owner for Harrison for AP after his game at ATl. and again no dice. So into the afternoon games, I am offered Fitz for AP. I thought about it but am for some reason a little cool on Fitz, so I declined. Being that I at the time had Branch, Berrian, Holmes, James Jones and Marshell as my WR's I was, as you can imagine, suitably disgusted. This same owner then counters with Galloway and Edwards (who both blew up in the earlier games) for AP. We can and must carry 4 RBs and 5 WRs so I have to give up 2 WRs to take these two. I give the owner Jones and at the time Branch had 24 yds. at the half so I offered him too. The owner was going to just drop him and pick up someone from the waiver wire but I convinced him to just take Branch. Branch then blows up in the second half. To wind up this long story I made him throw in Ahman Green. So the deal then is Peterson, Branch, Jones for Galloway, Edwards and Green. I felt that since Rudi and AP had the same bye week, then this helps and as much as I think AP is talented, with the Minny schedule and the situation of the offense, I just can't see more than 8-9 TDs. He had 66 yds. on 20 carries (although he did chip in with 50+ rec.)

So, my point is that I decided to sell early due to my WR situation (plus I'm 0-2 although I had a good showing point wise this week) and I'm not sure that Green is much of a downgrade. From what I saw in my league, owners that have a top 5 or 6 WR will not deal them for AP and I don't get why any owner would deal a top ten RB straight up either. So maybe the best way to get value is to package it. I might also be a blithering idiot as well :football:

Can I have that 60 secs of my life back please?

He's a solid RB2 right now with RB1 upside. Your trade was decent but I wouldn't have done it. I'm a bit biased though...

i like how ahman green and deion branch are "throw ins" to even out a deal
Branch wasn't as throw in. He was gonna be outright released. I'm feeling pretty crappy about him having a good second half. I definatley had a knee jerk response to him. I'm hoping that Galloway outperforms him.

Will you people stop telling us about your trades or how great your 11th round pick is doing!!!!

At this point we may as well merge the Shark pool and ACF.
