Pulp Fiction - What was in the brief case? (1 Viewer)

Diamonds maybe?

Not buying the soul angle.

IIRC, the original kernel of the idea, back when Tarantino was just an aspiring screenwriter while working at the video store, the three stories of Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and True Romance, were one long like 500-page screenplay that followed the briefcase. He later split it up into three films and sold the rights to the True Romance portion to fund making Reservoir Dogs. So I guess "the diamonds from Reservoir Dogs" are what ends up in the briefcase in Pulp Fiction, having been traded at some point for the briefcase full of cocaine that shows up in True Romance. The "soul" thing was just a 90s urban legend/pre-internet meme.

Directions to the house of the guy who keyed Vincent's car.
Figured that was Butch
But when? Did they go grab Vincent's car after they took the cab to get breakfast (where Jules clowned Ringo) and before they went to deliver the briefcase to the boss man? Otherwise, how would Punchy know where to find Vincent to spot him in his car?
We don't know how they got from the diner to the strip club. The Malibu could have been there already.

Possible. I reckon Jules and Vincent could have met up at the strip club and the latter dropped his Malibu before they went to steal Brad's tasty burger, but Jules picking up Vincent elsewhere in that mother that was tip-top was also a possibility.

It could also have been a mob car, something they can dump on short notice

This was always my understanding too. Also connected to the conjecture that films like Kill Bill and Inglorious Basterds are supposed to be movies that exist in the world of PF/RD. (Kill Bill is very obviously the movie version of Fox Force Five, starring Mrs. Mia Wallace.)

The "soul" thing is just one of those things that percolates on the internet, like how Fight Club and Office Space are the same movie.

My understanding is that is stems largely from the scene where we see the back of Ving Rhames's (sp?) head and there is a band aid at the base. The theory is that suggests that's the spot the devil pulled out his soul or whatever. Turns out, the actor merely cut himself shaving that morning and showed up to set with it on, but the former theory is far more interesting so it stuck.
