Put my two weeks in and was all but fired. Can you Erase a iPhone w/o passcode? (1 Viewer)

Many states are “at will” so you can get fired at anytime for any reason......other than the normal illegal reasons to terminate someone.
Yes but then he was fired not resigned which has some implications here.

One thing I would NOT do is the whole threaten to sue them thing above. If you ignore them they won’t actually withhold your pay unless they’re downright stupid. Making a bigger issue out of it is unnecessary and could cost you a negative reference from former employer. If it were me just stop talking to them and let it blow over and cash your last check.

What planet do you live on?

It really isn't all that uncommon for a company to just let you go when you give notice and you shouldn't take offense. Now, most companies would say we will pay you for the next 2 weeks but you don't need to bother coming in. If you aren't getting paid for the two weeks you gave notice for that would be my biggest issue, not a phone passcode.

Claim you forgot the passcode? They would have no legal ground to stand on to  hold your money.
They have no legal ground to stand on, regardless.

Tell them if they hold your last check you'll be talking to your lawyer, the state DOL federal DOL within about 5 minutes.

edit, there were more responses on page 2 I didn't see when I posted.  this has been covered.

I've run IT support teams for the last 10 years or so.  At my last place we had a guy who was giving his password for his phone to one of the girls that worked for me.  His password was ####-IT!

The girl that was helping him has a super sarcastic sense of humor and starting giving him a hard time about it.  He played it off like he was trying to say eff it because he had 4 passwords in a row rejected and not eff the IT group.  I'm still not sure if he was telling the truth or not but either way, it was a good story that still goes around in the IT group there.
