I know the Dak haters are strong. I'm not a cowboys fan or a cowboys hater. I thought he looked sharp last night. Next week gonna be a big game for his narrative.
I’m not a Dak hater. I like him and respect him a great deal. He’s a very good NFL QB, but not a great one. Great ones lead their teams to big wins in tough spots late in the season. Dak’s record in these spots is demonstrably sub-average. That’s just a fact. I’ll be the first to give him his just desserts if this changes, but nothing has really changed: he puts up video game numbers against bad and average teams. He throws bad picks and struggles against good teams in big games. What good team has Dallas beat? If Seattle is the apex of this conversation, that’s a pretty low bar.
You didn't like Romo either I assume, since his defense was a siv and couldn't stop a peewee football team. That's on Tony. Dak played pretty poorly against the 49ers, the last couple years but you can't just hang that on Dak.
Realistically, we don't match-up against the 49ers very well, who the hell does? They have a sharp rookie QB, best RB in football, stud playmaker at WR/TE, a great coach and a great defense. That doesn't mean Dak isn't good enough to win a SuperBowl it's more a credit to San Francisco.
Dak has almost a 69% completion percentage if you take away the 2021 playoffs, where we **** the bed. I think you take that from your QB. I'm not an overly optimistic Cowboys fan. Generally, I stay pretty level-headed and tapered with my expectations. We are as close to the top as anyone in the NFC. December will tell us all we need to know, but if Dak can continue to use his legs and the O-line stays healthy... I think we can hang with anyone.
I have always stood by Dak and don't see any reason to change course. He's just a good dude and I don't know how you can't cheer for someone like him. When he plays his best football, he looks as good as any QB in the league. Ferguson's growth into the offense and the addition (and eventual utilization) of Cooks has been huge. If someone can find Michael Gallup, we might have the best offense Dak has had since becoming a Cowboy.
Cannot wait for next Sunday...
