I really don’t understand the criticism of the play calling. Barkley is their best player in that offense and it really should run through him. With their defense (which closed the game again today), they essentially just need for Hurts to be a game manager and not blow it with turnovers. That’s exactly what is happening. They keep winning. It isn’t always pretty (like today) but they keep winning. Nick has figured out what works with the immense talent on this team.
That may work the first round or two of the playoffs, but they're likely going to nuked by Detroit. Saquon is not going to save them in that game. That's not to speak of possible SB opponents Buffalo or Baltimore.
They need to get Hurts throwing more soon, so he doesn't have to try and go from 0 to 100 when they start needing him more in those deeper rounds.
Agree completely.
If PHI wants to win it all, they can't just hand the ball off to Barkley.
The passing game is clunky rigtht now.
When push comes to shove when it counts, Hurts will need to make some plays in the passing game. They need to get in a groove prior to the playoffs.
Imagine having the best Oline, RB and WR/TE group in the NFL and still having a clunky passing game ????
I wonder what the problem could be???
My favorite is this is coming from a Giants fan who very publicly was all about Daniel Jones in here and Cowboys fans liking it lmao.
11-2 this year, teams made the playoffs every year he’s been the starter.
Talk about 1st world problems when nitpicking Wins is the worst thing happening in the midst of a 9-game winning streak.
I'm not an eagle's fan, but I own Hurts.
From a fan perspective, I know the team is 11-2, but that's all fine and good
until you have to throw to win...when it counts. Don't you think it behooves K. Moore to add some deeper shots to the arsenal? Wouldn't this open up the offense even more and make the team that more dangerous? Prior to the playoffs, as a fan, I'd want Hurts more confident doing this.
Now as an owner of Hurts, I don't care how he gets his points, but I do fear whether it's this week or next or the week after, those tush pushes finally dry up, they continue to throw 20-22 times, and I'm left with < 10 points in the fantasy playoffs.
All that said, something tells me that this week, against a stout PIT D, Hurts and company put this all to bed and the squeaky wheel gets greased with a long TD to AJ Brown.
