It’s the OC. The playcalling has been… anemic. Hurts has actually been at the top of his game so far this year. He has been reading the field and going thru his progressions at a very high level. Two things you can rely on in fantasy football every year: Jalen Hurts and Derrick Henry.
Tell it to a true believer rather than a guy that rosters him because he stunk this week. It's not just fantasy. i don't think Philly wins a title playing this way. At all. I don't think Philly wins the Divisional Round playing this way.
It's terrible football and not just aesthetically. I think everyone is snowed because the Chiefs and Eagles have had a few Super Bowl match-ups in the past three years, but these teams look like warmed-over, two-day-old crap.
But Hurts is more risk-averse than a lot of elite QBs. The playcalling is stale and predictable, so his reads are usually into windows that are too tight, and the Defense is giving him more opportunities with his legs.
Hopefully, it’s just a matter of them figuring out how to adjust and getting time to self scout. But when the Defense can look at the formation and figure out run vs pass just by the formation you line up, you’re at a disadvantage.
