QB Joe Burrow, CIN (3 Viewers)

If the Bengals lose Sunday they will be 3-8 with a god awful defense and pretty much out of the playoff picture

Burrow is not 100% right now, the Bengals should be getting a top 5 pick in the draft
There is zero reason to play Burrow except he wants to play, which is not in the best interest of the franchise and it's future

Would be dumb to play Burrow at this point but the Bengals are dumb
Do you sit all the starters then?
No. Just maybe the most important guy to your franchise who is at an elevated risk of reinjury.

Why do the Chiefs ever sit Mahomes in the last week of the regular season?
Sitting last week is a lot different than sitting 1/3 of the season. Why dont all QBs sit out when their teams are out of it with 1/3 of season left.
Because not all franchise QBs are coming back from a significant injury with an increased risk of reinjury.

At the end of day idc what the Bengals do but there is a valid and logical argument to not running him out there once they admit their season is over.
If he is not considered recovered and they bring him back at 3-8, I agree. If the docs say he's good, different story.

Let's be real. Zac Taylor is letting Burrow play, even though it's almost certainly a lost season, because Taylor is coaching the rest of the season to keep his job.

And here I thought Burrow was playing because he was healthy and his job title is: Starting QB, CIN Bengals.

Eh. I could be wrong, and Zac Taylor wouldn't openly admit to it even if I was right. But I'm very curious to see if Burrow starts if/when the Bengals are officially eliminated from the playoffs.

Why wouldn't he? Players play. He must be itching to get back out there.

I will totally concede it's uncommon to state Zac Taylor is trying to save his job by letting Burrow play. However, It's not "off the wall" to question why Burrow is playing with a plate in his foot, behind a bad offensive line, given his injury history, and given the Bengals' extremely low odds of making the playoffs. Many analysts, pundits, fans, and media have wondered the same.

I understand the concept of "shutting players down for the year"... but I can't really recall (off the top of my head) when it has actually happened. Six games left. That's a lot of football.
