QB Justin Fields, NYJ (14 Viewers)

He said today his legs have not felt right the last few weeks
His arm must have not felt right the last few seasons.
Ha, get what you're saying but I'd have gone with a brain contusion as my joke for his passing ineptness.

Truly think therein lies the problem, not his arm. He's not even as inaccurate IMO as he often looks, you just look inaccruate when you can't throw on time.
He’s also got a significant fumbling issue, often without contact, but last year he was very fortunate with the bounces that he only had a few FL.

Had another unforced fumble last game. It’s a problem.

Add in a coach who has put the fear of god in the team about turnovers and you create what we got last week.

I considered rage dropping and quickly realized that's a senseless move.

The duds are killers but the medium high ceiling keeps him more than relevant most of the time.

 Denver defense is really good at limiting running quarterbacks from actually running. Obviously the passing numbers were gross. I am still starting him with confidence

Daniel Jones 2 yards
Justin Hebert 6 yards
Jalen Hurts 3 yards
Justin Fields 31 yards
:lmao:

No you aren’t.
Definitely not. But also, I punted QB (took Lawrence late) and picked up Fields off the waiver wire in week 2. So my expectations are really low. Debating him or Daniel Jones this weekend

Same. Trying to decide between these two.

He was my QB2 behind Jayden. Happily dropped him for Daniel Jones tonight (after he was dropped last night).
Fields has so much potential. I’ve watched him over the past 3 years drop back and seems he’s playing a different game - a tick behind the play developing. No question can run but if he’s adamant to play pocket passer he’s a significant 1-2 seconds behind the NFL norm

Feels like a really big game in his Jets career. Feels like one of those game where when it's over, he is either the Jets QB for rest of the season or he is replaced for next week.

This really isn’t mystery fish. This guy sucks the life out of all the talent around him, and Aaron Glenn’s decision to start him has lessened all our football enjoyment and in giving us his “reasoning” for how and why he is managing these games the way he is, Glenn has lowered our IQ by about two standard deviations.

He’s at least not concussed right now. He ran an RPO and when he got eight yards downfield and probably at least 17-20 MPH he slid right in front of Nick Cross and got leveled and nearly brained. He’s a total clown show. If you started him it’s just being obdurate at this point.

Good luck. It’ll probably work out until one day it doesn’t.

C’mon, nobody starts Justin Fields with confidence. You start him, if necessary, and hope for the best.
Week 1 QB #2
Week 2 gets hurt
Week 3 misses game
Week 4 QB #4
Week 5 QB #7
Week 6 QB #30
Like I suggested, if you’re starting Justin Fields with confidence — you shouldn’t. There’s nothing about his play that instills confidence. Nothing.

The Steelers might take him back.
I was so disappointed with most of my fellow Steeler fans from this forum who were ripping the team this past off-season for letting him go.

Could not believe the negativity around it it all and kept preaching that just because he’s young does not mean he should be anyone’s QB of the future.

Jets saved us.

Steelers have 99 problems but at least Fields is not one of them. Though to be fair I think Arthur would have put him is positions to perform better.

This is an unserious way to express leadership as a head coach. Glenn needs to stake his position and make a clear and direct decision and stop equivocating. Bench Fields, roll with Tyrod for now and pick up some cheapy practice squad type who can possibly make hay in a professional offense. Needing to contact others to make a decision is a cop out and doesn't engender players to go all out for him. Dan Campbell wants to bite kneecaps, Aaron Glenn wants to be confused and indecisive. Big difference.

The line is such a disaster it would take peak Brady or Rogers to even play mediocre. It’s a fire drill on most plays.
That's what we thought about Cincy until Flacco dropped 300 and all the sudden Chase Brown can run again. I'm starting to think the QB setting the protections and changing the play at the LOS can make a big difference. Not saying Cincy's line is good and we all know that the JETS pass catching options are meh at best with GW out. Obviously "Just throw it to Chase 25 times" isn't a formula available for the Jets..

But Fields is unserious as a NFL QB. He was a holdover in my oldest dynasty league. I started him this week again because Purdy's still hurt and Penix floor games have been really bad. It's time to fold up the tents and go home.

Oh I agree. I sat him and started Jones.

Yeah it’s ugly for sure, and I’m in no way absolving Fields and his slow processor skills but between the line and play calling it’s a recipe for disaster.

Menobrown AR is a 1 year rental. Sure the team is better off without RW and JF. People were looking at JF as potentially the future.

JF needs to go to a HC who specializes in offense.

I don't feel any more of a comfort level. I look at the Steelers after Ben and I think of some nicknames.
The Placeholder Posse
The Signal Caller Shuffle
The Throwaway Crew
The Arm Farm
The Steel Spinners
The Terrible Throws
The Rust Belt Rifles

I have to hold Fields due to Glenn's indecisiveness because my opponent's QB room are both out on bye in week 8.
And no I can't let Fields stay on waivers against Cinn. He either gets 4 pts or 28 pts.
This idiotic HC holding a roster spot hostage on my team.

If you are responding to me then tag me instead of just saying my name.

Yes AR is a one year rental. So what? Can we beat this dead horse any longer? If you are not in position to obtain your QB of the future then you do the next best thing. That's what they've been doing.

And all of you people were wrong, like I said you were.

I do recall you being more anti-Rodgers and pro-Fields then anyone I can recall and yet your post sure does not sound like "I was wrong" to me. You are over the top stubborn or worse.

Lol, like I said about being over the stop stubborn or worse.

I'm not so sure he's wrong though. A good OC would make him comfortable with easy completions, have him roll out more, and give him the green light to run. Who's done that yet?
I'd say everyone and really it's one thing to think a certain OC or HC is not doing all he can for a player but I'm really kind of in shock that you or anyone else can truly sit here and think mulitiple teams and staffs just did not know how to use him properly and it's all just so easy if they'd only think of it. Speechless.

It's more that I truly believe most teams have bad coaches. Nepotism and familiarity is more important to NFL teams than creativity.

There's a handful of elite coaches and OCs in the NFL who can take a Fields or Richardson - someone with raw physical ability and no football iq - and unlock them in the first place. Fields had no chance at the start, and at this point he's learned enough bad habits that he's not going to ever reach close to his ceiling. There's a limited number of coaches who should have even considered drafting him, simply because he does not play the style of football they coach and they athey good enough coaches to change to meet his strengths.

I'm not saying Fields is redeemable at this point. Just that if he didn't have terrible coaching to start his career he would have had a much better chance of harnessing the natural abilities he has. I'm prettier sure we can agree that he's been pigeonholed into an offense that doesn't fit his strengths for a lot of his career. Pretty sure he wasn't even allowed to run as a rookie.
