Im starting him this week, i wouldnt say with confidence quite yet, but I expect some what of a bounce back game.

Starting him. Not feeling great about it ( even more so because I currently have Marvin in at flex and Ebron at TE - 3 Lions is too much Lions for a lineup ), but right now am unwilling to make roster room for another QB. Plus, people in my league inexplicably horde QBs so the WW is pretty picked clean. More likely to make a change at TE to remove a Lion.

Not a good matchup but I don't think you should even consider dropping him if that's what you're thinking. He still carries Top 5-10 upside. He's going to throw it a ton this season and his schedule looks great outside of this week and the two Minnesota matchups and as we all know things don't always play out the way the matchups say they will. Maybe he goes off this week just like last week was supposed to be a slam-dunk in his favor and he flopped all over the place. Never know. But no way would I bail on him. He still carries so much upside. They can't run at all and their defense pretty much stinks so there's going to be heavy passing volume pretty much on a weekly basis which gives him huge upside nearly every week. Even this week he should be throwing it a lot so he could come through despite the fact the matchup, on paper, doesn't look good at all for him.

As of now sitting him for Wentz. I'm scared of that Philly defense after the Pittsburgh game. I'll probably change my mind 20 times before Sunday.

Didn't mean to suggest that I'm dropping him. That won't be happening, I just plan on picking up a streaming option on weeks I don't like the matchup. This week I don't feel like I have the roster room to be doing that, so I'll be starting him.

Gotcha. Yeah that's the way to do it in weeks like this one.

That's the position I'm in. I'd love to pick up a streamer but this league only has 4 bench spots. It's a serious crutch.

Everyone's afraid of using him this week, I'm not. Watch him blow up, he's at home and is pissed off, he's going to go off, Philadelphia def. has let up plenty against the pass this year. I'm starting him with confidence.

Love this bravado. Hope you are right !

If it means a big game for not just Stafford but Marvin Jones and Theo Riddick, I'm all about it!

I think you guys will not be very happy with the outcome if you start him.  I have him and Winston and it's not even a 2nd thought for me.  Winston all the way. I think people still aren't giving Philly defense the respect they deserve. That front 7 might be the nastiest in football.  Stafford will be running for his life.  Lol

As I noted above, I have no choice. Only QB. Only 4 bench spots. So I have no choice but to hope Stafford can exceed the low expectations, specifically since I am starting Jones/Riddick in multiple leagues.

Picked up Hoyer vs Colts to start in place of Stafford. His turd last week vs a weak D has got me scared and PHI destroyed PIT.

In addition to what looks like a good defense, PHI also likes to slow the pace, as in the slowest pace in the league thus far, possibly limiting Stafford's total opportunities.

Matthew Stafford vs. Eagles: True to what has seemed to be his career form, Stafford has been alternating strong weeks with duds through four games. He’s carved up the Colts and Packers, while face-planting against the Titans and Bears. Stafford now gets a rested Eagles team coming off their bye. New DC Jim Schwartz’s unit is allowing the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks, and the Eagles are the only team yet to allow a passing touchdown. Robert Griffin III, Jay Cutler/Brian Hoyer, and Ben Roethlisberger have combined to go 57-of-99 (57.6 percent) passing for 682 yards (6.89 YPA) and a 0:3 TD:INT ratio. The Eagles are No. 1 in Football Outsiders’ pass-defense DVOA. A year after facing the most plays in the league on defense, the Eagles have faced the fewest plays per game through four weeks. Philly’s offense is also 32nd in pace. There simply may not be enough volume here to lift Stafford to a top-12 finish. Schwartz also knows Stafford really well after he was the Lions’ head coach from 2009-2013 and drafted Stafford. The Lions’ implied total of 21.5 points is one of the lower totals of the week. Philadelphia is three-point road favorites.

Eagles D has let up 203 passing yards per game this year, that's 6th best in the league.  They've also given up 0 TD passes, best in the league.  They are also best in the league in points allowed per game.  The main reason is that they've been able to get pressure on QBs while only having to rush 4 (they've done that 89% of the time) allowing them to drop 7 in coverage.

Being a fantasy player you know yourself, there not always right. Sometimes we bench players because of their matchup and regret it. I'm all in, my only worry is if jones will play.

That was also against two bad teams, Cleveland,Chicago, Pitt put up 250, Ben never was a big td guy and he has great and bad games, brown had a great day. I'm not saying there terrible but I see 250-300 and 2-3 this week.

Not sure you've been following what's been going on during the 2016 NFL season.  Big Ben has 11 passing touchdowns in the other three games he's played this year.  Even with the goose egg he laid in Philly that's good enough to rank #1 in the NFL.

Maybe Stafford goes for 300 and 3 this week, "on any given Sunday", but your reasoning is unsound to say the least.

Just because he has thrown for 11 tds don't mean Philadelphia was so good they stopped him, sometimes it just doesn't happen. Philadelphia not that good trust me.

Prepare for the loss Philadelphia fan. Mark it down ,it's going to happen.

Looks like someone who is very knowledgeable. Think I will trust this guy...

Matt Stafford is bad and he should feel bad.

* this post may or may not be related to him having burned me twice this season

Like I said, "any given Sunday" anything can happen.  But your basing your opinion on flawed analysis.
Food for thought. Stafford last year vs Philly D:

* 27-38-337-5-0

At home, I'm not expecting the above line, but I'm also not so gloom and doom as all the so called "experts" are out there.

Philly reading their press clippings maybe too much? A little complacent after bye?

Maybe. Maybe.

Philly defense this year is nothing like their defense last year.   Different coordinator, different head coach.  They're an elite defense rt now.

They shut down Big Ben and antonio brown before the buy, and they've had 2 weeks to study the lions.  Stafford will have many big performances this year but not this week imo.

I hope I'm wrong but if Chicago d can shut him down I'm scared to see what Philly front 7 will do to him.

Yup.   Every time I think I have something figured out in the NFL I get humbled.

I thought Philly D was for real.  Good for stafford. I'm happy BC I own him and this gives me more confidence in him even though he's on my bench

I tried to warn you guys !!! Especially that Philadelphia dude.

Great call guys ! Staff and Marvin in my lineup ?

Even as as a Lions fan I can't understand us. Anemic against Titans and Bears then back to this

Starting him this week. I think with Trumaine Johnson out and hopefully most of the Rams DL won't play again this week, i think the matchup is better than what people think. I think Stafford and Jones will connect a lot this weekend.

Fellow Stafford owners. What is everyone's plan going forward? Next 3/4 weeks include bye and Vikings x2. His schedule opens up weeks 13+ but I am considering dropping him for Bortles or Eli.

They always say it takes about 8 weeks for everything to settle in the nfl....Stafford seems to have settled back down to being just a regular fantasy qb.  After the next 4 weeks you have to figure his worth will be as low as it will be this season...

I have Winston so I'll be playing him over Stafford for the next two weeks

The offensive pace and snap count have slowed from the beginning of the season.  @NO in Wk 13 is the only matchup I truly can get excited about for the rest of season.  We have limited number of transactions in our league but I am going to grab 2 bottom of the barrel QBs and pseudo-stream the rest of the way.

2 out of Cutler (nice matchups and the offense is actually kind of clicking), Keenum, and Kessler are what I am considering but I am sure you are better off than me at QB2 or QB1a.
