QB Testaverde works out for Patriots

Patriots worked out ageless quarterback Vinny Testaverde today. Whether that's a sign of an injury to Tom Brady or just that he needs someone to talk to is anyone's best guess. The Pats seemed comfortable with Matt Cassel as the No. 2 guy coming out of training camp. They also worked out Tommy Maddox recently.

Hard to believe there are no better options from somewhere else - say NFL Europe, Arena football, undrafted college prospects, Philly bartenders. Vinny freaking Testaverde? You gotta be kidding me. Besides, I think the Bucs wanted him.

Last week they brought in Maddox for a look-see. What is going on in New England? And if there was an emergency need, why wouldn't they just go to Flutie?

i told someone tonite that by the way Brady threw Sunday nite, this news, and his shoulder issues during the offseason that something was up with Brady's shoulder. it is just a guess.

Brady threw the ball 55 freaking times....if he had shoulder issues would they let him do that? He didn't show any problems during the game....he didn't look hurt. The way he threw the ball on that one scoring drive "late in the game" didn't lead me to believe there was any shoulder problems.

I think his problem is he is still getting used to his new receivers. He looked like he was developing something with Gabriel late in the game. IMO

concur. :hey:

In Bill they Trust! :lmao:
How naive of us to put our faith in such an obviously incompetent person.Anyway, it is pretty routine for the Patriots (and every other team) to bring in unsigned free agents for workouts. Not necessarily because they have any intention of signing any of these guys any time soon, but just to keep their files and scouting reports up to date. It's just the intelligent thing to do.Of course, if you guys think the Patriots should be bashed for what is routine procedure around the NFL, then by all means, carry on...

Bradys gonna read the Bailey comments, hes gonna read the whole "needs someone to talk to" thing and hes gonna come out this week against the Bengals and throw 3 TD passes.

* dont mark it down
