Was thinking along the lines of Stuart’s QBBC that this might be a good year to try a Quarter Back By Committee with a stud. Specifically either Duante Culpepper or Carson Palmer. Because of the uncertain injury status both of these elite QB’s are likely to be available much later in the draft than normal. I am having trouble with finding decent ADP but currently I am seeing Palmer at around 65-75th pick ( late 5th - mid 6th in 12 team league) QB 7 and Culpepper above 95th pick ( 8th or later) QB 19. Obviously these will be very volatile as we approach the season and get an idea of how healthy or unhealthy they are. The plan is to get a serviceable starter for the first ¼-1/2 of the season and have a healthy stud for the stretch and playoffs.
When am I targeting these guys to be back? Well Cincy ha a bye week 5 so week 6 if all is going as planned Palmer should be back for sure ( hopefully before then) and hopefully Cpep too.
So I would need to target:
1. QB w/ favorable pass defense SoS in weeks 1-5
2. QB w/ bye week 6 or later
3. QB available in later rounds of draft
4. Other miscellaneous favorable ( for example K Warner’s injury history is less of a concern than T Green’s slow start reputation)
Any thing else you can think of?
Strength of Schedule, definitely not my specialty and even the guys that are good at it are always wrong on a dew. But my quick look at weeks 1 -5 yields two teams that really stand out as meeting all of my criteria. Miami and New York Jets. A few others that are close are SF,CIN, CHI,BUF.
So I am thinking of trying to grab Joey or Chad and pair them with Duante or Carson. Would like some input as to if anyone thinks this is a good or bad idea and if anyone has thoughts on SoS or anything else.
