Question about MFL's draft feature (1 Viewer)

I see that I can turn on an email option that says "Draft Status"--but I'm not sure if that means that it will only email me when I am on the clock. I would like to receive an email whenever a pick is made, so that I can keep up. In your experience, does MFL do this? Thanks for your insights...

CORRECT....drafters must use the draft list and make their pick and then it will be sent out.Tell your leaguemates NOT to go to the "draft room" and make their pick via that mechanism (which generates no email)

Yes watch for that.You may want to ask people in your league not to make picks in the "live draft room", so that everyone gets the e-mail updates on all picks.Nothing worse than being the next pick on the clock and thinking the owner before you hasn't made their pick cause you haven't received an e-mail because they made their selection in the "live draft room" and then you either hold up the draft or your timer runs out.

Ugh--first time MFL user here. There are two places in which an owner can make a draft pick during the draft? I understand that I shouldn't send my owners to the "Live Draft Room" to make their picks. Where *do* I send them, so that they can pick AND an email is sent to the rest of the league? TIA.

Using the "For Owners->Draft" menu link should do it.Also, MFL just added a feature where you can get a text message to your cell phone (in addition to the e-mail) when draft picks are made.

If the "email draft" option is chosen then the "For Owners -> Live draft room" option isn't available, and the confusion won't occur.

New question from a newbie: Let's say that I have only put the name of one player on my pre-draft list. If that player is not available, then my draft clock will just continue to run until I make a pick, right? (I have not put any other players on my draft list, nor have I enable--to my knowledge--the MFL system to draft the next player according to ADP).

Yup. If set up correctly the clock should just go as if there wasn't anyone in the draft list at all.
