Question about the NFL endzones. (1 Viewer)

I have seen every Packers game so far and at Lambeau they used to have GREEN BAY painted in one end zone and PACKERS in the other. I was confused because they now have painted in the end zone a number of white / / / / / instead. I thought this was exclusive to the Packers, however last week I noticed a few other teams had the same / / / / / in their end zones. Was there something that happened to take out the team names in the end zone?

I noticed it in the Packers game today for the first time...I actually wondered if they were preparing to test out some digital overlays/advertising...but really have no idea why they've done it...

Probably for the same reason that teams wear ugly throwbacks every week....

Yes -- I'm pretty sure the Steelers have done this for a couple of years at least.

Thought it was a throwback to earlier times? Swear I remember seeing old old football videos with that design in the end zone.
