It seems like I rarely see a man using an umbrella (eta for Floppy) when it's raining. I guess you could use one if you're a plantation owner and want to inspect "the help" too.

I keep one in my car and may have used it once when I had a client with me(female)to keep from getting soaked going into a meeting.

Thought it was a good idea to have just in case but rarely use it.

I had one in my golf bag but then it got shredded during a typhoon. I then decided that I will never, ever, golf in the rain again. Ever.

I own 1 black umbrella. I use it to and from work when it's rainy, especially in late autumn or early spring when it's almost cold enough for snow but not quite.

I almost always forgo it when I'm just going out, especially in the summer.

Several golf umbrellas and several $10 totes type umbrellas that telescope to fit in work bag. I leave these at work (no more work though ...) in the car, and in the house. Prior to that it was always not there when needed.

not really. Some of us just get wet.

Come to think of it, we've just been lucky. When it rains, it isn't cold. In a cold rain, without a raincoat (or other water proof jacket with a hood), I'd probably use the umbrella. Warm rain isn't a problem.

Never saw the point since it is usually only needed briefly and if you are going into your car it gets wetter from the water coming off the umbrella than if you didn't use one.
