Joe - as an avid Belichick/Patriot hater, do you worry about alienating Patriot fans who typically pay for a subscription here based on the fact that the owner of the site is constantly speaking out against their favorite team?

You obviously don't take the "don't reveal your biases in business" rule too much to heart. Just curious. Pats fans seem to be a pretty whiny bunch and I can see them not coming back as repeat customers just out of spite on what you've said about them all season.

I'm sure Joe will be along shortly to answer, but one of the great things about this board is that it is made of fans and people with different passions. It's a great thing that we can care so deeply about sports, and that we can have different opinions.

Joe will certainly speak for himself, but I imagine that most biases and slants here are in the spirit of cheering for American sports, and not out of real dislike or hatred of a particular team or set of fans.

Footballguys is comprised of a staff that are all, first and foremost, NFL fans. I'm as diehard an Eagles fan as you'll find but that doesn't mean I don't TRY to be objective, particularly when it comes to analyzing/projecting the outlook for fantasy in the upcoming season. For many of us (myself included), once the playoffs roll around, it's a time when we can let the fanboy biases run a little bit more than usual.

Joe is usually so agnostic about the NFL, I kind of find his anti-Pats rants amusing, even though I disagree with most of his points.

Please show me a link to anything that would show me to be an "avid Belichick/Patriot hater". I take my shots. As I do with many things. But I don't think I'm close to a hater. If you disagree, please show me what you're talking about.J

Personally, I think Joe likes to stir the pot on occasion, however if you go back and read the posts that incite some animosity they are generally fairly mild-mannered. A lot of it has to do with people being overly sensitive.

Thanks jonessed. Everything I write is there for all to see. I have certainly been critical of the Patriots and the spygate thing. But I also get criticism when I say that I believe Belichick is the greatest coach of our generation.I think people like to see / hear what they want to some times.J

I never noticed that about Joe? But I do remember Joe tearing into the Giants at the start of the year and saying how the team would implode etc...I even wrote him back a few times letting him know I thought he was reading the cards wrong. I should find those posts, but every time I try the search I don't get what I want...
