Question re: Tim Carters TD today (1 Viewer)

I think this happens every year. Someone on offense fumbles, some one on defense recovers, they fumble, and the team that was originally on offense recovers again and scores.

Take this example form todays Giants/Eagles game:

4th Qtr

1-10-PHI39 (13:53) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass short right to P.Burress to PHI 16 for 23 yards (B.Dawkins). FUMBLES (B.Dawkins), recovered by NYG-T.Carter at PHI -6. TOUCHDOWN.

As I have always understood it, the Offense (in this case NYG) becomes the defense when the other team has possesion of the fumble. Did the Eagles (Dawkins) ever have possesion?

If Dawkins never had possesion was the Giants Defense incorrectly scored a defensive TD? Is this a Fanball issue, or is this scored this way everywhere?

EDIT: Actually, Fanball has Teh Giants D with 3 fumble recoveries and that does not jive with the 1 fumble shown on NFL.com.

I'm in some league that uses 'statsworld' as their host site, here's what they're scoring it as:

Tim Carter (WR - NYG) recovered a fumble in the endzone from his teammate Plaxico Burress for a 0-yard Offensive Fumble Recovery for a TD that shows in the scoring detail as 0fo. If you have a scoring rules such as "TD Count: Offensive and Special Teams" or "TD Distance: Offensive Fumble" then the Offensive Fumble Recovery for a TD is automatically scored.

FYI, Sportsline is not crediting the Giants D with a TD. So it appears to be a Fanball issue.

Can I get an accurate sack, int, and fumble recovery count for the Giants D please? Fan ball has them as 1 sack, 3 fumble recoveries and 1 TD. A little more research on the fanball website reveals complaints of phantom fumbles and TD\'s.
