I think this happens every year. Someone on offense fumbles, some one on defense recovers, they fumble, and the team that was originally on offense recovers again and scores.
Take this example form todays Giants/Eagles game:
4th Qtr
1-10-PHI39 (13:53) (Shotgun) E.Manning pass short right to P.Burress to PHI 16 for 23 yards (B.Dawkins). FUMBLES (B.Dawkins), recovered by NYG-T.Carter at PHI -6. TOUCHDOWN.
As I have always understood it, the Offense (in this case NYG) becomes the defense when the other team has possesion of the fumble. Did the Eagles (Dawkins) ever have possesion?
