Quincy Enunwa (WR) (1 Viewer)

Stewart and Anderson are going to be the "main" benefactors for playing time/targets now. Whos behind them for targets. Peake? Hansen? Someone else

Jalin Marshall will eventually get his chance to be the tallest dwarf, once his suspension wears off.

Awfully early to say a late round rookie WR is going to benefit from anything.

Someone has to catch passes and if Anderson and Stewart don't then someone else will get a shot and I just like being able to put that guy on a watch list so I would be able to add him a week or two before most people realize who is the next man up

Yeah, I agree.  I just don't think we can really know who this benefits.

The New York Post expects Quincy Enunwa to get most of his snaps in the slot.

Jermaine Kearse played the slot last year, but Enunwa should return to the role after missing all of 2017. The Jets' top three receivers going into training camp are Robby Anderson, Enunwa, and Kearse. Terrelle Pryor, Chad Hansen, and ArDarius Stewart are also competing for snaps.

Quincy Enunwa caught 6-of-10 targets for 63 yards and one touchdown in the Jets' 48-17, Week 1 win over the Lions on Monday night.

Enunwa was targeted on 10 of Sam Darnold's 21 pass attempts, seeing a ridiculous 48% target share. His next closest teammate saw three targets. Back from a serious neck injury, Enunwa looked like his pre-injury self, turning a short pass into a 21-yard touchdown as he dragged a couple defenders into the end zone. Jermaine Kearse (abdomen) sat this one out, but he doesn't figure to have a big effect on Enunwa when he returns. Enunwa is the safety blanket over the middle. He should be added in all formats ahead of Week 2 against the Dolphins.

Thoughts on him vs. John Brown? Both looked decent (though hard to say much about Brown given that the game turned into such a laugher).

What I like about QE is that a) he has a path to WR1 status, especially since I could see Darnold focusing more on the possession WR rather than chucking it up to Anderson, and b) unlike Brown, his QB has some upside, which raises his own ceiling.

Pretty close. I like Enunwa in ppr though, he looks like Darnold's safety blanket.

Yes, should have mentioned this was 0.5 PPR. Had been debating between Brown and Lindsay, but I have good RB depth and realized Enunwa was still out there.

I really like Enunwa, plays at a high level of skill making tough plays, good nose for ball, and fights for his receptions. I think he'll continue to perform at a solid level but I do think his value will take a hit when Kearse returns.

Enunwa will retain value as the slot/posession receiver, I just think his targets may shift to a point where he is on the bubble as a reliable flex option. Rooting for him, and we'll see if he can continue to demand this level of targeting (in RZ and all over the field) when all receivers are healthy.

Good thoughts.

Darnold was raving about Enunwa. Said it's awesome to be able to throw to him, he runs smooth yet violent routes, is a very physical receiver, and how cool it is to watch how much separation he creates for himself.

I spent 45 bidding bucks to pick him up and will start him this week. I have a feeling that he will continue to get a high share of targets and so he should be good in PPR. I like Robby Anderson too but until the QB gets more comfortable going deep to him the targets will favor Enunwa.

FYI, upcoming schedule looks pretty rough ... @CLE, @JAX, DEN, IND, MIN, @CHI.  I'm seeing Indy as the only free square since CLE Def has been playing well, + then they get @MIA next (could get Howard?), then BUF, and then their BYE.  Not saying don't grab the guy as he will still have value especially in PPR, just giving the other side of the coin. That's 2 maybe 3 times at least I'd feel confident starting him until Thanksgiving.

He has had two very solid outings in a row.

In my league, CLE is ranked 22 vs receivers, Broncos, 21, and Colts 17.  In fact, I only see one top ten D vs receivers and that's the Jaguars. Looks like a very favorable schedule.

Quincy Enunwa caught 4-of-8 targets for 57 yards in the Jets' Week 3 loss to the Browns.

Enunwa was essentially functioning as a running back this evening, taking quick passes/screens and trying to do damage after the catch. He did a lot of it, ripping through arm tackles and dragging defenders. Enunwa is an angry runner. He will remain heavily targeted as the Jets try to prevent Sam Darnold from making mistakes. He's on the WR3/4 borderline.

Sep 21 - 12:14 AM

Quincy Enunwa has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain.

He's likely to miss at least three weeks. The Jets will move forward with Jermaine Kearse at slot receiver, and Terrelle Pryor and Robby Anderson outside. Enunwa can be comfortably dropped in 12- and 14-team season-long leagues.

Jets signed WR Quincy Enunwa to a four-year contract extension.

Per Pro Football Weekly's Eric Edholm, the deal includes guarantees worth slightly over $20 million. Enunwa was only available for the first half of the 2018 season, but reminded everyone of his talent over the middle of the field with a 38/449/1 performance through 11 healthy games. Both he and Robby Anderson are expected to grow with Sam Darnold for the foreseeable future.

Jets coach Adam Gase wants to expand Quincy Enunwa's usage.

Enunwa mostly occupied a short-yardage role for the Jets last season, averaging a meager 11.8 yards per reception. Gase wants to change that, creating more downfield looks for Enunwa instead of the bubble screens he settled for under the last regime. "I don't want to put him in a box," said Gase. "I want him to be able to try to do as many things as he possibly can." Enunwa landed a four-year extension in December, keeping him in East Rutherford through his age-29 season.

Quincy Enunwa exited Tuesday's practice with a groin injury.

Coach Adam Gase believes it's a day-to-day thing for Enunwa, saying the receiver should be ready next week. Still, soft-tissue injuries rarely ever heal as planned and can linger an extra couple days. Either way, Enunwa should be good to go well ahead of Week 1, even if he misses some preseason reps.

Argh. I kept thinking of Darnold and his offensive weapons last night.

Saw this in the sidebar of the NFL scoreboard on ESPN tonight:

"Rich Cimini ESPN Staff Writer

Jets WR Quincy Enunwa (IR/neck) was fined $27,900 by the team for missing two days of treatment and he voices his displeasure with a Twitter rant. He said he took his wife, a veteran, out to lunch on Veterans Day and also had a house emergency. He acknowledges he should've told the team beforehand, but believes the penalty is "excessive." He says "this could've been handled in so many different ways." He also reveals he has only a 50/50 chance of playing again."

The Jets are a very classy organization.  Players gotta love playing for that team.   :yucky:

The craziest thing to me is the picture in Enunwa’s tweet. Apparently the Jets post player fines, including amounts and reasons, on tv screens in the locker rooms. I’m not sure what purpose that serves other than to try to embarrass the players. I can’t imagine why any player in the league would want to play for the Jets.

Quincy Enunwa (neck, IR) has been told there's just a "50 percent chance" he'll be able to resume his career.

Enunwa is trying to come back from two serious neck injuries in the last three years. The Jets recently fined him $28K for missing two treatments, so there's some concern over how he's attacking his rehab. Even if he gets cleared, this could be Enunwa's last season in New York. The Jets can save $6 million in cap space from making Enunwa a post-June cut.
