If there are several nested quotes in a post, how do you quote only the last entry?

Can someone please explain this to me like I am a 5 yr old? For some reason I am stonewalled by this, but I have come to grips with it and it is time to admit my flaws. The first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem.

I also found that using the " marks that are in the toolbar of the post while having the curser in the quote you want to removed worked to remove one nested quote at a time. But I like the highlight the quote you want version better
