Racist rancher,feds at a standoff.Drone strike looming! (1 Viewer)

Cliven Bundy Supports Gay Marriage, Taxing the Rich

Embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy has shocked supporters and opponents again by claiming his “racist” persona is fake and that he’ll pay his overdue fees if the government grants amnesty to Edward Snowden, taxes the rich, legalizes gay marriage, and enacts other liberal measures.
This was the best of that "article"

Bundy said he’ll keep fighting for his liberal values as long as it takes. “Maybe if Hillary Clinton becomes president, this country will get some sense and sanity back.”
:lmao:

Congressman: Bundy Militia Has Set Up Road 'Checkpoints' In Nevada A Democratic congressman from Nevada said in a letter this week that his constituents have reported the armed militia supporting rancher Cliven Bundy have set up checkpoints to verify the residency of anybody passing through.

Rep. Steven Horsford (D-NV), who represents the area, sent the letter Sunday to Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie, asking him to investigate.

"I am writing to bring your attention to the ongoing situation in northeastern Clark County which has caused many of my constituents to fear for their safety," Horsford wrote. Residents in the area "have expressed concern over the continual presence of multiple out-of-state, armed militia groups that have remained in the community" since Bundy's dispute with the Bureau of Land Management came to a boil.
The militia, as reported by Horsford's constituents, "have set up checkpoints where residents are required to prove they live in the area before being allowed to pass," the letter said.

They have also maintained a presence, sometimes armed, along highways and roads, as well as community sites like churches and schools, the letter asserted.

Journalists on the scene at the height of the Bundy Ranch standoff estimated as many as 1,000 protesters had gathered earlier this month.

Hotels in Mesquite say they have already lost more than a $100,000 in business because of armed militia groups patrolling Bunkerville.

8 News NOW has learned Mesquite Police are investigating death threats to hotel staffers following a bomb threat earlier this month. The threats were reportedly called in by supporters of Cliven Bundy, the Bunkerville rancher battling over his cattle with the Bureau of Land Management. Democratic Representative Steven Horsford says people are living in fear, under the constant presence of armed militia groups.

8 News NOW investigated those claims and found that while people from some of the top hotel chains didn't want to go on camera, the dispute is costing them, and the community, plenty. As armed militia groups poured into Bunkerville to support rancher Cliven Bundy, so did threats.

One Mesquite city leader said the entire Holiday Inn Express was evacuated for hours following a bomb threat related to the Bundy saga more than two weeks ago.

8 News NOW obtained a police report which also shows the hotel received at least nine threatening phone calls in April, after they allowed BLM rangers to stay in the hotel.

Workers were told to kick out the BLM or they "would not be standing in the morning."

One Mesquite hotel worker, who didn't want to go on camera, said he was told by an anonymous militia member that he would be "dragged out in the parking lot and shot".

Tuesday, the militias told us they feel this fight is still not over, and they don't plan to leave.

I get the feeling the feds are thinking they can wait this out and the armed loons will leave, but i fear they are underestimating their dedication

Or these people have been only taught how to die and not how to live. Die with a gun!

Isn't there some law being broken here? Something around people being allowed to come and go as they please?

I get the feeling the feds are thinking they can wait this out and the armed loons will leave, but i fear they are underestimating their dedication
The armed loons don't matter if they stay on Bundy's ranch. Unfortunately they've been intimidating businesses and employees, and the towns and local law enforcement seem afraid to set them off.

You'd think that local law enforcement and a law-abiding local militia could take care of this.................................

right

i think the fear is any confrontation will be an excuse for the loons to start shooting, they are begging for someone to come show that the government is an evil armed force trying to take their freedoms, and they will respond violently

so the thinking was lets back off and let this fire burn itself out

but i think these people are not going anywhere, and they are starting to cause more and more problems

i cannot see a good ending to this

Why can't the army just roll in behind a M1-Abrahm tank and be done with it?

I get the feeling that they are going to let things deteriorate and make the bomb threats so real and rail so hard about Weapons of Moderate Destruction (WMDs) hat when the drones strike they can call it preemptive war.

No...I mean to prevent these people from bothering others....not to remove the "militia". Either way, I sorta see your point, but to me, these dopes are martyrs as much as OBL was, so there's that.

I'm pretty sure the army can't legally do that. HTH.

Don't the Federales have some black-op types that can make a few of these militia guys disappear in the middle of the night?

"We durnint, where did Bubba go?"

Nah, the feds are just waiting until the supply of S'mores Schnapps runs dry.

These guys are so eager for an armed confrontation they'll end up turning against each other. That's the government's 12-level-chess plan.

Wow, who could have imagined that letting paranoid, mentally deranged loners arm themselves to the teeth would have negative consequences?

At some point, you'd think the government would start using the T word in relation to these clowns if they continue to threaten people in town.

Uh, everybody's favorite senator from Arizona, Harry Reid, came out with domestic terrorists right at the start and was impaled for it by the right wing media that is now retreating from this debacle as fast as their little legs can carry them.

My bad. I generally don't pay attention to Reid or his words.

Well maybe you should. He's right more than most people are willing to admit, and nailed these ###-clowns from the start while jagoffs like Hannity and Paul were calling them heroes.

Hannity and Paul have retreated from this position. Rather than mocking them for that, I give them credit for having the good sense to change their minds. Though I disagree with them on many issues, sometimes profoundly, conservatives like Hannity, Paul, and their followers are NOT extremists, and it's not right to associate them with these crazy militia types.

I wish they would now be supporting ending this even if that escalates into a gunfight

but i have a feeling if shots are fired they'll be bashing the administration for being heavy handed

I wish they'd come out and call him a domestic terrorist

but they want these wackos to vote for them, so they won't

If they hadn't they would have lost all credibility. Even amongst the right. I don't give them credit for that.

They associated themselves with them by calling them heroes, which was an asinine stance from the get go. Hung themselves with their own stupid jingoistic rope and I am content to let them twist a bit. And Hannity is a total ####### idiot who doesn't deserve any credit anyway. Paul I like on some issues but on this one he showed a fairly major lack of judgment. Probably enough to derail his bid.

The whole martyr complex is funny.
to really love america, you have to hate the government of america, even if you work for it

only those that see that the evil government of this nation is the real enemy are the ones who love this nation

i am not sure why that would be hard for anyone to understand

since im not worthy of a reply, does anyone know the reason Timsoschet is unretired and not using a new handle?
When did I retire?

(I did try to quit the FFA once, several years ago, but I quickly realized my error and returned.)
could have sworn that i saw something yesterday about you changing handles because you didn't like the way people responded to you or something, but i can't seem to find it, so i guess it didn't happen.

well, no matter. Are you having a good day? I hope so!
