RAIDERS @ BRONCOS - Game Thread (1 Viewer)

What is the over under for parking lot fights on the way out?
zero, Denver has a ton of Raider Nation. We all got each others backs. Bronco fans wont start none. And I doubt Raider Nation will be in a bad mood. :banned:
how does that work?
I used to live in Colorado during Elway's years. Always wore my Raider gear. There are a ton of Raider fans in Denver. More than you see on TV.

Heyward Bey is much improved (still not good)....appears to be running fairly decent routes this year.

I don't blame Denver fans for being pissed. You had a rookie QB who played lights out at the end of the season, then a new regime comes in & pretends they saw nothing (or the film machine wasn't working). I'm neither an Orton hater or Tebow lover, but if Elway & company actually believes Orton is the better choice to lead this franchise right now, then they're not the football people I thought they were.

The Broncos aren't a playoff team. Tebow is the EASY choice. Get him in there & let him grow. Tebow has much more natural ability. It was a bad decision not to trade Orton, & if he nixes the deal, you make Tebow the #1 (he should be, anyway). Orton has leverage as long as he's the starter.

I honestly thought Elway was smarter than that. In the end, he'll have to start Tebow, anyway, but he's now lost valuable reps in training camp as well as valuable experience each game he doesn't start. The good news is it's an easy fix, but I wonder how long Elway's stubbornness will prevent the right move.

Bottom line, if you're going to make this move, Orton better play well. The Broncos handled this very poorly, IMO.

The way MBush looks, Im still not sold on DMC...Looks to me more like DEN D is terrible than DMC is a top 5 RB
 You apparently weren't paying much attention last year either then.
1 year...After getting negative points from DMC in a game he didnt get hurt in, in '09, I need to see at least another good year this year before I consider taking him in the 1st. He's still hype for me.

Probably overlooked by many, but not by a Panther fan used to Fox's game mismanagement. Notice how Denver took a timeout with 2:05 on the clock allowing Oakland the option of run/pass on 2nd down rather than taking the timeout right after the reception for the first down. Little things like this add up to "L"s.

I hope he's in the division for a long, long time.

Huge loss for Denver.

With their schedule, this was one of the games they needed to even have a chance at a .500 record.

I repeat this is going to be a long year.

some interesting notes (well to me)

The Raiders beat the Broncos despite committing 15 penalties for 131 yards and passing for only 105 yards. Just the same, they rushed for 191 yards, held the Broncos to 38 yards rushing and sacked Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton five times.
Pass-rusher Elvis Dumervil (shoulder) was relegated to situational duty for three quarters, and perennial Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey injured his left hamstring
Brandon Lloyd (groin), Knowshon Moreno (hamstring) on the sidelineOrton had a tough night. He completed 24 of 46 passes for 304 yards with an interception. As he left the field, fans were chanting, “Tebow! Tebow!” for second-year quarterback Tim Tebow

who just leapfrogged little lance ball. that was pretty sweet. though it should be a penalty for 'group celebration' :penalty:
celebration rules/penalties are the suck
Didn't say I agreed with it. But under the current rules you almost can't high five a guy. And I said it was sweet too. I think we are on the same page here.

Agreed. But I think Fox will get it turned around. Maybe not this year, but next. He took over a Panthers squad ten years ago that was in far worse shape than the Broncos are in and had them in the Super Bowl two years later.

I think this team is just so far down right now (thanks McDaniels), it is hard to get excited by much. Fox likes the power running game and he just doesn't have the backfield or the o-line to pull that off. I liked Dawkins play yesterday, but the way he is flying around the field, I give him 4-5 games before he gets hurt. When his arm got trapped when he was making that one tackle and he came up holding it, I figured he was done then. Bailey's hamstring injury is big. It seems he has battled that on and off for a few years now and any extended time he misses, will just make that defense worse. Moreno is pretty much worthless other than a receiver out of the backfield. He is too fragile and that fumble yesterday was a killer--Fox won't stand for that. Finally, the whole Tebow thing is going to be a black shadow over this team all year. I think if Denver is sitting at 2-5 or 2-6, it is Tebow time. Why not give him a chance to sink or swim? They can see what they have in him for 7-8 games and decide if he is a gimmick or the future. Their schedule is brutal and just gets worse and worse.
